Urban Southwest

Owner is untrustworthy. We bought from them and the item broke. They offered us a store credit when we brought them back. Now he refuses to honor the credit. We will no longer purchase from this store. Very upset by the dishonesty in business and lack of customer service by Mr. Colamartini.

This is a very cool place to find all kinds of decorative touches, furniture, hardware.they have a ton and the building is much bigger than you think from outside.

Worth 30 min of your time to walk through this cute little place. Some great pieces (large and small) if you're looking for something a little different.

I absolutely love this place. Every corner is filled with awesome unique things. I could spend hours here. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Bought a bull skull from here it's my favorite purchase!

What a wonderful find. My husband and I went in to "look around " and 2 hours later we left with having purchased the most beautiful solid wood dining table. Wouldn't have taken so long except we loved 4 tables and had to finally make a decision. Urban Southwest will customize and create what you desire. Fantastic, whimsical store with something for everyone. Seriously, whatever you're looking for (furniture, decor, art), come here before you go anywhere else in the area, and you'll leave with a one-of-a-kind piece. Also there isn't really sticker shock on anything - most stuff is more than reasonably priced. Nick was incredibly helpful and friendly, so see if he's around when you stop in. We can't wait to revisit and see what else they've reclaimed or crafted up!

This place is amazing! Great selection of unique furniture and home decorations. The owners and staff are equally awesome! They provided such great support and guidance to help us find the perfect items for our friends new home. We visited them 3 times in a week as we refined our design strategy. They were so great to work with! I strongly recommend visiting Urban Southwest. You won't be disappointed!

I was visiting from Palm Springs for the weekend and happened upon this store by accident. Definitely one of the coolest stores to see. Every room filled with cool one of a kind furniture. Owners are great. Extremely friendly. A must see and must go if furniishing your home with unique pieces is a must have.

I had driven past this place hundreds of times saying I really wanted to go in and finally did! The shop itself is super cute, with thousands of things to find. It's really great if you are into mid-century furniture, which I am. They have a great amount of small decorations, old gems and cute signs for hanging. The next time I'm in need for a specific piece I will definitely be back. The staff was also super knowledgeable and friendly.

The owners are nice, friendly, down to earth people. The showroom has an eclectic style with a very wide range of home decorations, furniture, and conversation pieces! It was really fun walking around looking at all of the different things they have for sale. It's amazing how much they have to choose from in what seems like a small shop. You're sure to find SOMETHING you have to have there

Cool, cool stuff at reasonable prices. And interesting owners, the Colamartinis, who have been married for 48 years. My favorite store so far as a new Phoenix resident. I will be back!

Just bought our third piece from Nick - two very unusual doors with so much character and now a one of a kind, zinc topped table that is a show stopper. Nick never disappoints - he does an amazing job with every piece he works on and everything ends up looking so unique and cool that nothing seems to hang around his store for long. If you see it and like it - better buy it quick because you will never see anything else like it!

I was told by the owner that I should go to WalMart with my $300 budget. Awful customer service. This was my first visit and I will never go back.

This is one of those eclectic furnishing and giftware stores that beckons me like a treasure hunt. The search begins when you park on the side of the building (where all sorts of metal frames and wood doors may be found) and peer at a large "entrance" sign above a large wood door that actually doesn't open. One then walks around to the front where a stone paved sidewalk with a garden variety of beautiful plants, some this summer slightly blocking the walkway, guides you to the main entrance.

Inside there are a variety of metal/wood furniture pieces that have been hand forged or updated in numerous ways. An antique writing desk is in a backroom that has been updated with steel pieces giving it a vintage yet contemporary appeal. There was a nostalgic letter inside this desk from no less than the owner sharing its long family history. I have purchased giftware and a metal wood side table for my living room from Urban.

There are bars, dining tables, signing and a lot of original art. There is also lighting, some of the Indian variety, and a range of Mexican and Southwest artifacts. It is worth the trip and also making the rounds a few times. I enjoy that someone is not peering down your back and one is left to wander. A Phoenix gem. I will be back!

What a fabulous atmosphere! Inspiring ideas everywhere. I don't have to worry about seeing the same piece of art at anyone else's place! I wish this place got more business. They deserve it! Hard work, great deals, solid craftsmanship. Spread the word, bring new people with you they always have new stuff! Great experience.

Awesome store and even better people. We bought a vintage industrial crank table with reclaimed cedar top in a basket weave pattern. Nick worked closely with us to make sure the stain was just the right color. Thanks for the awesome service.

Very unique place. I love the fact that they use local woods and metals stuff to create one of a kind piece. We bought two stools that we are using as an end table and everytime we look at it we love it! We also requested a custom made gift for a friend. Cant wait to see what it looks like!

WOW.what a fantastic place! This store is filled with truly unique items. Some are vintage while the furniture is made the from locally gathered materials with an urban contemporary/rustic industrial esthetic. Everything is displayed in a very creative manner. The problem here is sensory overload! You come away with so many ideas. And they do all kinds of custom stuff. And repair lamps, make drapery, do welding, just a nice place! The staff is friendly and informative. If you are really looking for cool stuff, this is the go to place.

You need to buy your furniture here. Seriously. Nick (the owner and furniture maker extraordinaire) is one talented guy and also one of the nicest people I have ever met. Every time my husband and I have gone in, he's always there with a big smile on his face and a few bottles of water in his hand. We first visited his store when we moved into the area a little over a year ago.

We really weren't looking for anything at that time, but ended up walking away with a simple piece - a reclaimed wood entry table. We have stopped in many times since. A few months ago, we bought a Mexican star for my sister-in-law. Most recently, we had Nick make us a desk. We told him what we wanted and the price we wanted to pay, and he ran with it.

Two and a half weeks later, we had the most perfect desk I could ask for. I can already think of 3 more pieces I want Nick to build for us. This is a great local business run by a super friendly, hardworking guy who will make sure you are nothing but satisfied with your purchase. I can't wait to fill up my house with his work.

Wow, can you get lost in this place. I have driven by this place so many times and always wanted to stop. Wish I would have stopped months ago! This place has so many cool pieces of furniture. Most of which is made on the premise. Urban Southwest has numerous rooms that are set up with tables, seating and accessories. Great way to get ideas. Nick was extremely helpful in how they build their product and how they can custom build anything for you.

The furniture is a little more than most places, but that is understandable with most everything custom made. Will be stopping by here again the next time I am in need of a table. Thanks Nick!
