Great place to pick up a home goods gift for a hard to shop for relative or friend. They have hanging flower baskets and ferns here. It's "cute".

This is a fun little shop that I enjoy stopping in to look around. There are so many delightful country style items for those that love the Americana or Farmhouse style. There are candles, soaps, waxes, cards, bags, old school candy, toys, pillows, furniture and more. In the nicer weather, there is outdoor shopping as well with plants and gardening things. The Dixboro General store is a must stop by to browse place that I plan to frequent more often and bring my family/friends, too!

I was in the area and stopped in to see what's new at one of my favorite stores. It's always an enjoyable experience to browse DGS for seasonal treasures. There were lovely, inexpensive items for Valentine's Day as well as a nice selection of Michigan themed towels and mugs.

I love this kind of store that transports you back in time the moment you walk in. This general store is in the historic village of Dixboro, several miles from Ann Arbor. It looks like not much has changed since this general store opened in 1840, which is part of this village's charm. The general store has a wide variety of home decor reminiscent of old-time country homes. it's a bit pricey but there are sales usually after the holidays. It's worth a stop if you are driving through Dixboro.

The store has a perfectly cozy, welcoming feel. The staff is incredibly helpful. The store carries a wide variety of home decor, but most impressive is the quality of the items they sell. Plan an hour to meander and enjoy yourself!

Cute. Bigger on the inside than it appears from outside. Reminds me of Gabriella's that used to be in Plymouth. 99% Christmas stuff right now. I'll be interested to see it in the off season. Mixture of average-priced to over-priced items.

You gotta love this local gem on the northeast side of town. Driving up to the Dixboro General Store harkens you back to days gone by when general stores like Dixboro's were the "Amazons" of the day. This store is located in a classic turn-of-the-century country house on Plymouth Road and specializes in Home Decor, Furniture and Gifts. Today, we picked up a special order hand-made sign and did a bit of fun browsing. Take a step back in time with a visit to this unique Washtenaw County gem.5 stars.

We stop by the Dixboro general store during every season. The holidays are fun to shop here for unique, country feeling or State of Michigan gifts, decor & souvenirs. The kids love the old time candy to choose from. If you are looking for something particular just ask the staff, they are friendly every time.

One of my favorite places to shop local and support small businesses. The store doesn't look big from the outside but there are several small rooms plus an upstairs and they expertly pack lots and lots into each small room. My favorite time to visit is Christmas where each small room becomes it's own wintery Christmas scene. A lot of the merchandise leans towards the country feel so if you are looking for ultra modern you may not find the appeal that others do.

In the summer it's light and airy and filled with artificial flower arrangements, candles, soaps and lotions. No matter the season plan on spending some time here and discovering the unique goods in every little nook and cranny.

Little country store with handmade and decorative seasonal housewares, candles, ornaments, soaps, children's dolls, pumpkins, fake flowers, lamps, candles, china, furniture, purses, placemats, knickknack items etc. Relax and enjoy walking around exploring this cozy treasure chest filled of great stuff. Two floors of merchandise located in a vernacular Queen Anne home on the way to Ann Arbor, the merchandise is not cheap. They offer some great food samples in key spots around the building. Lots of Christmas merchandise. Plenty of parking in the back. Cash and credit accepted. Open Sundays.

Cute store located at Dixboro and Cherry Hill Road. I've only been to this store once but I was a little disappointed. We were there to see Santa and pick up a few Christmas gifts. They have unique gifts, home furnishings, wall decor, candles, etc. The prices are fair for the types of products. I purchased $70 in gifts and the staff was not friendly at all. Overall- cute store, reasonable prices, but not a friendly staff. I will not rush to go back.

Stopped in to see "Santa" with our grand children. He was the best Santa ever! Personable and took time to talk with every one in our group. Even my white bearded husband. Santa acknowledged him by saying "my mother told me I had a brother!"

Cute little housewares and furniture shop in "downtown Dixboro" (I put quotations around that because if you've been there you know that it's basically a few buildings/strips that make this up). It's housed in an old farm house and it's filled with furnishings that would go best in that style of architecture. They've got cute couches and chairs, dressers and tables as far furniture goes.

Plus wooden signs proclaiming "I'd rather be at the lake, " candles and glassware, throw pillows, mugs, wreaths, cute knicknacks and more fill the decor category. There's also some snacks, dip mixes they make in house, candy, and toys for the kiddos as well. The staff here was very friendly and it was lovely just wandering around taking it all in. Haven't been here around the holidays but it's now on my to-do list to come here at Halloween and Christmas because I imagine they'll have some really fantastic stuff on hand to decorate with.

I have been coming here with my mom since I can remember. Now that I have my own home I come here whenever I am in the area. They always have the cutest holiday decor. They have decor that would fit all different home styles. My favorite time to come is right after each holiday. They have great sales and I get items for next year at least 40% off. I can never stay away from their old candy and glass bottled sodas as well. Come any time of the year, holiday or not, and find something to make your house more homey.

You know those little stores jammed packed with cute overpriced stuff that looks great on display but is unnecessary and impractical at home? The focus is really on furniture, as Sarah noted, but they have other knicknacks, candles, gifts, xmas stuff. I really really like their blackberry jam.

The small but cute shopping district in the village of Dixboro is a new discovery for me. I especially liked the General Store. I expected more in the way of penny candy and dry goods, but they're very oriented toward furniture and home furnishings. The whole business has a really fun old-timey feel, from the picturesque old white Methodist church across the street to the barn out back of the store. Walking through the store is like walking through somebody's house, only with everything in it on sale.

For instance, couches are in a living room, kitchen ware is stocked in a real, functional kitchen, and patio furniture is out on a veranda on one side. You have to be into the whole "country kitchen" sort of decor to appreciate a place like this, but I was charmed.
