Every piece is made from high-quality wood of your choice and finished in natural oil. If you don't live near their showroom to check out their cribs and furniture in person, I can give you my honest-to-goodness word that you won't regret this purchase. Placing the order was quick and simple, and the customer service by Edward was excellent. Details: After endless research on cribs and furniture, it was fate and luck that landed us in this store.

Our first objective was safety, and that word is thrown around very loosely online. While most decent average-priced cribs out there are physically safe, meaning that it won't collapse on your baby, chemical safety is often neglected. After reading horror stories about toddlers chewing on supposedly walnut wood during teething and the parents having to wipe the fake black-brown walnut paint off of their little one's face, I decided to dig deeper.

There is so much bogus online marketing around "water based paint" and "green gold standards" all orchestrated by the disposable-furniture industry who are benefitting off the back of poor people in third-world countries. While you and I probably grew up in a crib with lead paint and we turned out "fine", we now know that there is a better way of making things, and that happens to be the old-school way of carpentry.

The moment you walk into this store, you can smell the natural wood, unlike other furniture stores that look and smell like disneyland. Our next objective was quality, which you can immediately feel by touching the Green Cradle cribs; and also hoping that whoever made our furniture was paid a decent wage, which is the case with this product being made in USA.

If having a non-toxic, VOC free crib and mattress for your baby is important to you, then look no further. This place, and Edward in particular, are the best. I've searched high and low for solid wood cribs that are not coated in chemicals or finishes and this is the ONLY place that sells cribs that fit the bill. There are a FEW online retailers of solid wood cribs, but all of them either stain the wood, or use a cheap light colored wood, and NONE of them have any style to them. Edward's cribs are beautiful, made of solid wood in the color of the wood species, and completely organic.

I really don't understand the negative reviews for him or the store. Perhaps they're just competitors? We've bought THREE cribs and THREE mattresses from Edward and our experience was ALWAYS top notch. He's responsive to calls. He replies to email quickly, and he was always polite and professional in the store. He would give us information, but then let us have time to discuss things privately.

He wasn't pushy or rude in any way. He would even email us updates about shipping and such. There was even an issue with our first order, and he made everything right immediately without any hassle. We've had 2 of the cribs for almost 2 years now and they're just as beautiful as when we first got them. You can shop with confidence at Green Cradle.

This place is fantastic! Edward is a very kind and extremely knowledgeable person. He took so much time to explain all the different materials, building processes, and certifications that go into constructing mattresses and furniture as well as the considerations one should make when purchasing these items. I learned so much! He knows his stuff for sure and is very passionate about helping people make their homes as safe and as toxic-free as possible. So happy with Green Cradle! My husband and I had our first child in 2014 and wanted a non VOC highly safe 100% natural solid wood crib and solid wood dresser for her bedroom. We searched the web extensively, but we were not sure of the highest quality option until we found The Green Cradle in LA and Edward as the owner. We visited the store on Ventura Blvd and were immediately impressed with their selection and high knowledge of all the available organic, non VOC, solid natural wood options, both for furniture but all home needs.

In addition, the prices at the Green Cradle were fair and even better than many sites on the internet, and we felt more comfortable with a real store and real customer services for our purchase. Ultimately, we chose the Sea Green crib and six drawer dresser in walnut from the Green Cradle (looks amazing BTW) and despite the 12 week lead time (it was custom built and stained with organic oil) it was hand delivered and looked awesome! Edward guided us through the timing and delivery so there were no surprises (we didn't pay extra for expedited delivery which is available).

In fact, we were so happy with the Green Cradle that when we were expecting our second child in 2016 we ordered the exact same furniture set (Sea Green Crib and Six Drawer Dresser in walnut).but with a bit more lead time! We now find ourselves in 2019 and our first born is bigger and again we sought out Edward's advice from the Green Cradle and decided on a full size crib conversion set in walnut that uses part of our existing crib to make a full bed.

Plus we ordered an organic mattress so again felt very good about our daughter's bed set up. If you're looking for 100% organic, GOTS & GOLS certified, solid wood bedroom items, and a very fair price I highly recommend you visit Green Cradle. We've been very happy since 2014 with 2 full sets of baby / children furniture.

Walk away! The manager or owner of this business (Mr. Edward Olshansky) is dishonest, unethical and untrustworthy. Green Cradle will not honor warranties, such as comfort exchanges. They will say or do anything to justify their dishonesty to maintain their profits. They also will sell you unnecessary "extra services and products" rather than give customers honest information to make choices based on an honest set of facts.

Do not do business with them; you have been warned. I have read that businesses who are favored by Yelp are able to 'scrub' negative reviews. I hope this is not the case. By looking at the reviews posted on Yelp, it seems that this may be true considering our experience.

We shopped around for a while looking for a quality crib, but never found anything that was worth the investment, that was until we came to Green Cradle. The solid wood cribs they have are top notch & American made. Honestly, the organic factor was really just a bonus for us. We wanted a convertible crib that wasn't going to fall apart as the years went on. Edward, the owner was extremely kind, informative and not pushy at all.

It also feels good to support a family business that choses to make their products in the USA. Definitely would recommend coming here if you want excellent service and quality furniture that will last a lifetime.

They have occasional sales, making their prices among the lowest compared to other mattress retailers. I love that they have organic product selections. I ordered a certified organic mattress cover with Edward. He was very helpful and informative. I was very satisfied with the customer service provided.

My husband and I searched high and low for baby furniture (crib, changing table) made from solid wood with no toxins in the mattresses, paint, or finish. It's surprisingly hard to find such products, so we were grateful to stumble on the Green Cradle store by chance. The owner was very knowledgeable and we were impressed with the products. We ordered several pieces, and all arrived in ahead of schedule. We would absolutely recommend this place, especially for parents looking for truly all-natural options for newborns and kids.

We bought a wooden toy train for a birth gift. The owner was kind and helpful. The human friendly wooden train? Priceless! (as was the thank you video with the train in action from the recipient's mom.) Toot Toot!

After researching nontoxic nursery furniture, I have not found any other companies that even compare to Green Cradle in quality and safety. Additionally the customer service appears to be exceptional so far! Thank you to Edward for spending so much time answering all of my questions.

It's been a year since my review of my first purchase and I still ABSOLUTELY LOVE my mattresses from Green Cradle! So much so that when my dad came to live with us, I didn't even look anywhere else for his bed. I knew this was the one and only place to buy the best sleep experience. Not only did Edward help us pick out the perfect mattress for my dad, we also bought an adjustable bed from him as well.

My dad was recovering from abdominal surgery so the adjustable feature was really helpful. Also, the bed we purchased moves in such a way that it "hugs" the wall which was another plus since the bedroom is not massive and it also came with an under bed light which seemed superfluous initially, but has turned out to be one of my dad's favorite features! Only CON is that now every family member wants an adjustable bed!

So happy to find Green Cradle and all the amazing products it offers! I am beyond happy to know businesses that share my values of natural, organic and sustainable living! Edward went far and beyond explaining all the products that we were interested in. We ended up purchasing Moses basket bassinet and a crib. Bassinet arrived on time, it looks beautiful and I am looking forward to use it!

The quality of bassinet is superior. Green Cradle is amazing store and quickly became one of my favorites for many natural, non toxic, organic and sustainable products for my family and home!

The information regarding chemicals in mattresses was very informative! Well worth the price to know you won't have to worry about harmful chemicals. Great customer service and the process was stress free. Can't wait to enjoy my new mattress!

I had been searching for a proper pillow for months with no success until I was introduced to the OMI brand line of pillows. Amazing! I sleep soundly and comfortably now and I'm even happier knowing my head is not resting on chemicals. No more neck pain! The owners are lovely to do business with - very helpful and very knowledgeable. Highly recommended!

SOLID CRIBS! We are on baby two now and while our first child didn't sleep in the crib much our second child does and my husband and I have spent many nights sharing the toddler bed option adjacent to our bed. Let me tell you I took my research seriously and this company takes their product seriously. The owner himself called me to answer any questions I had and when he wasn't sure how his product compared to one in question he did his own research and got back to me in full detail as to why their product is superior.

The construction is solid and meant to last a lifetime I think. We have had it for four years now and it still doesn't shake despite many nights in it with an adult and jumping during the day. The mattress is so comfortable we want to get one for ourselves. Even though it'll be really expensive we feel it will be worth the money. I highly endorse this product all the way for NYC! Thank you green cradle, for keeping us healthy as we sleep!

Condescending salesman / owner. I can read a sign, thank you. Also you want me to take my shoes off? Wtf is the runner for. Wash them. I'm not saying everyday, try weekly. Or maybe put up a sign that says "Don't lay on the mattresses because I don't want your dirty ass print on it". This business could have got our money. If he wasn't such a bitch. If you have house rules tell your customers when you greet them.

Okay guys, this is Los Angeles people will come into contact with "bad", "unprofessional" or even "inconsiderate" people or employees. Guess what, we're human. People have different opinions of what rude is or may have no sympathy for those having a bad day. From the get go Steven was hugely helpful. Explained the production process of the materials used to make the all natural Obasan mattress.

After given some time to research the harmful chemicals used in unnatural "memory foam" mattresses. My experience was helpful, informative, and Oh My God the Obasan is amazing. I would refer anyone that is looking for high quality mattress, or a beautiful bed frame to The Green Cradle. I will update my Review when I get my mattress. Hope this helps.

This place is horrible. They do not honor their products and Never return phones calls. I wish I didn't buy my bed here. Now I am stuck with a an expensive bed that they won't take back or return for store credit. Plus an attitude.

My first impression of Green Cradle is it is a beautiful store. It has a designer look. I really like the owner, Edward he came a across highly intelligent and well informed on organic products. He really seems to know what he is talking about and does not make you feel rushed. I love the organic selection. They have the best natural beeswax candles that are beautifully carved.

I bought several of these as a gift. I received as a gift some baby clothing from their store. The clothes were so soft and comfortable it was unbelievable. You must try the clothing. I need to visit soon to see if I can get a shirt in my size. The bags that merchandise comes in make nice gift bags. This is a well thought out store. Sure organic cost a little more. How much are you going to pay for doctor bills in the long run, if you don't take care of yourself and your family now. Best of Luck and great store.
