SC 41 Furniture

Visiting the showroom and going through the process of picking out and purchasing my new sofa was a truly enjoyable experience. I highly recommend SC41 as a furniture store to purchase from. I had been looking for a sofa for over a year and just couldn't find a store in the San Jose area that I felt good purchasing from. The selection and quality just weren't there and the salespeople didn't personalize the experience at all. So, I chose to drive over the hill to Santa Cruz and am so glad I did!

From my first visit to SC41 Furniture to the point of delivery, the entire process was one I'd happily repeat. Antoinette was a pleasure to work with, knowledgeable, and great about keeping me informed and managing my expectations. She showed me a solid and affordable sofa line with plenty of fabric options. Once we confirmed the fabric I wanted was still available we placed the order. Turn-time was 8-10 weeks but to my delight, the sofa was ready sooner!

The delivery was seamless, timely, and well managed. Romy and Shei were so nice and extremely careful. They even moved my existing sofa for me then brought my new one in my family room, checking to make sure it was perfectly placed. I couldn't be happier with the experience! Thank you Antoinette and SC41 staff, I'll be back!

Purchased a couch based on a floor model, we just wanted a different color. Two months later it is the wrong couch. Now, we don't have a couch, they couldn't come up with a reasonable discount and we need to start all over again.what a waste of time and how can Toni possibly not be capable of duplicating a floor model? The couch was right there in the window! COMPLETE DISASTER!

So disappointed. Went there hoping to buy a couch today and no one would help me. One person was with another customer, which is fine, but the other stuck her head out of the office, looked at me and then went back to work. Can't but a couch by myself. I finally just left.

I worked with Lorie and she is great! I've has a Sleepworks mattress system since 2006 and I'm glad to be able to get the products without the drive to Berkeley. I only replaced my pillows and bought a topper for now but the mattress is due in a couple of years. For anyone who hasn't tried the Sleepworks products, definitely try them before you commit to something else.

They are a bit pricey but nowhere near that of similar classes of bedding - a killer deal for all natural materials (sustainable wool, cotton and latex) and incredibly well-made products. I've always been a bed geek and these products are the best ever. Never going back.

Sales agent was very professional and knowledgeable. We didn't feel like we were getting taken advantage at all. We felt very comfortable buying from SC41. The place was very organized and clean. I would go back again for my next furniture purchase.

Great service, wonderful selection of high quality furniture at good prices. And the delivery team is white glove quality. We've been buying furniture for our home(s) over the last 15 years and have always been more than satisfied. 5 stars for SC41!

I really enjoyed my experience with SC41 finding the right mattress for me. I looked at other Mattress retailers in town and was very disappointed. SC41 asked me questions about my sleeping positions (Back, stomach or side), light or heavy sleeper, back pain.etc No other store asked me any questions, only how much or my budget. My only regret after getting my new mattress was waiting! This is the best I've slept in months!

We noticed last winter that when we were visiting friends, and slept on a firmer mattress, we woke up with less back pain. We've been sleeping on our current mattress for the last 8-9 years. We've been talking about investing in a new mattress ever since. I often see patients suffering for years because they're sleeping on the wrong mattress. Sleeping like this is terrible for your health.

Not only does an uncomfortable night's sleep rob you of energy, it also causes many health problems. Poor sleep increases stress, pain and emotional distress. It also reduces memory and cognitive performance. In my practice, I often see neck and back pain that results from bad mattresses. I've bought stuff from them before. Expensive, but high quality. You get what you pay for. What I'm really impressed with is I just called and asked if they sold futons. They said they don't and immediately recommended other locations to help me with my task. They had no monetary reason to help me, but I really appreciate that from a business and will patronize them again!

After researching great mattresses, I found SC41 nearby to go and try one out. The experience was unrushed and thoughtful, and I ended up buying a different mattress than expected, because of their process. It's two years later, and every night it feels like heaven. I bought the oxygen pillows as well, which I love. Recently returned to buy more pillows, and thought the least I could do to support a small business during a pandemic is give them a great review to reassure others it's worth the drive!

Lori is an amazing interior designer who will help transform your house into a home that reflects your unique style. She took the time to get to know me, what I was looking for and worked within my budget. She offered ideas and suggestions that not only complemented, but enhanced my existing decor. I'm so grateful to Lori for all of her expert advice and unparalleled customer service! I highly recommend Lori and SC41 for any interior design and home furnishing needs.

I have bought items from the store and was very disappointed each time. I have an expensive stressless recliner that is not comfortable. I purchased a pillow and when I complained they did nothing and didn't care. Afterwards I found out that there are different sizes of the pillows although I was never told this. And finally, my brother purchased an expensive latex mattress and when he phoned the store about a year later to ask for a copy of the receipt for the purchase they refused to provide him one.

I would suggest you make sure you really like the product before purchasing here as once you buy it there is no help later if there is a problem. I now shop the store and then find it elsewhere where there is good customer service and good return policies.

The saleslady that helped me acted like she thought I was going to steal something--she kept following me around the store and would not leave me alone! I really just wanted to be left alone to decide for myself.which she clearly did not think I was capable of. She ended up discouraging me from buying the super $$ I wanted, & pushing me to buy another piece. I did, but only because "I" wanted it. Still, I felt like as an affluent person of color, her following me around was a bit disturbing :

On my last review I gave two stars. But after posting that review, Michael B. of SC41 reached out to me because I was unhappy with my purchase and the customer service. Over the course of a couple of months we gathered a plan, came to a solution, worked out responsibilities and got it done. Michael did all the legwork, really kept on the issue until we were both pleased with the results. Michael B. was competent, kind, resourceful, and kept me posted throughout. I'm so impressed with the outcome. My couch looks and feels brand new. Thank you, Michael, for being ethical in your business practices. That is so appreciated.

I bought a bed from SC41 shortly after they opened in 2008. It has been the best bed we have ever had. Still comfortable and we love the Oxygen Pillow too. It is also very comfortable and like the bed, fitted to each individual. It may cost a little more then your average pillow but is so worth it- so many hours are spent sleeping! There are so many benefits to using 100% natural latex and cotton covers.

I am a "picky" sleeper and Michael patiently helped many times getting the bed set up with the proper settings for my husband and me (different on each side of the bed). Michael B. and Susan G have assisted me many times picking the correct pillow and have always been very kind and helpful. The furniture they carry is incredibly beautiful although we have not needed furnishings. I really appreciate this store and the kindness and excellent customer service.

I had the best furniture buying experience I have ever had at SC41. Dan in the showroom explained the construction of the recliner and kept me informed since it was being made & shipped from Norway. Rommey and Nick delivered exactly on time & Rommey changed the arms of the recliner when he saw a problem. Denise does a great job getting excellent staff. My wife and I highly recommend this store!

I have been incredibly impressed with SC41 and would recommend the store to anyone who is looking for a new piece of furniture. I went in on a referral from a friend who said that they had really nice, quality furniture with good aesthetics. I walked in and was immediately helped by Dan, one of the sales people. He was very knowledgeable, kind, considerate and incredibly patient.

He must have had to run about four different scenarios into his computer for my new sectional - this guy had patience! I found the sofa that I loved and couldn't wait for it to arrive. So, it was amazing when it actually arrived quickly! The delivery crew was friendly, nice and very conscientious. This is exactly why I don't order couches off the internet.

I really felt like I had a team of people helping me along the way. A sectional is an expensive purchase and you just don't want to get it wrong. I would highly recommend using SC41 for your next furniture purchase!

We bought stools for our kitchen here and we love them. Even more importantly, we had the best customer service experience one can hope for. Lori and Dan went above and beyond to make sure we were 100% happy and satisfied with our buy! We first bought a set of stools and, a month later, we realized that they were not exactly what we were looking for.

We went back with very little expectations and, much to our surprise, they allowed us to return them! After that, they proposed alternatives based on pictures of our kitchen, which we loved and bought. Definitely a 5-star service, thanks Dan and Lori!

I'm thrilled to receive our sofa today. We ordered it several weeks ago and they told me it would take up to 8 weeks as they are made to order. We had a problem with the order but the owner resolved it nicely. The delivery men were really great. They were a bit ahead of schedule and called to ask if they could come early, yes! They covered the doorframe and were very respectful of our little home.

Plus they were nice to our dog. The owner recommended that we use an independent contractor to protect the fabric. He happened to come the same time as the couch was delivered. We are very happy with him as well. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is I dislike commission sales. I was not happy with the original person helping us and I liked the other woman who helped me pick the leg shape and color.

When we came back to order the dining set I felt that the woman I wanted and liked was slightly uncomfortable because we were the other person's customer. She never said that but I felt that way. So far I'm very pleased with the sofa and I will update when we get our dining room set.

This is definitely as good as it gets for furniture in Santa Cruz! I shopped around (and even tried to get a used couch on the variety of sites). Couches are so personal. Buying a used one seemed like buying a used mattress. I am SO grateful for the help extended me by SC41 (Dan!). It was the MOST PAINLESS furniture purchase I have ever made AND TOP QUALITY furniture. I am incredible happy and content with my purchase from SC41. Since my new couch and chair will last forever, maybe a coffee table in my future. SO GLAD YOU ARE THERE!

Rude. Terrible service. We walked in ready to purchase a couch, chair, and coffee table today. The woman treated us like complete garbage. We walked out and spent our money at a different establishment. We felt totally disrespected and basically like she profiled us. We don't look like we have money but we do- and we were ready to purchase our entire family room.

I had already done my homework online and was ready to place my order. I am completely blown away by how rude and condescending this lady was today. As I read other Yelp reviews this looks like standard treatment of their customers. Get over yourselves. you sell furniture, you are sales associates. I profiled you this time lol! Don't shop here. Spend your money somewhere where you feel good about it and where they appreciate you.

We moved to Capitola in June, and none of our furniture from our previous home in Mountain View "worked" in our new home here at the beach. We went to HomeSpace for a couple of custom items (that needed color matching, etc.), and Dan was most friendly and helpful. He was not only helpful with our order, but he also happens to be what I would call an expert on the local restaurants.

To this day, we frequent the establishments he shared with us on that first meeting. As a newcomer to an area, tips on local flavor and best things to do/see is tremendously helpful! Our experience with Dan and HomeSpace was so positive, that we recently went back and ordered a special Norwegian chair for reading next to one of our fireplaces. Again, very helpful and communicative! It's not every day that we have furnishing needs, but when we do, we will definitely go back to HomeSpace and see Dan!

I am very selective about where I do business. I visited a number of Santa Cruz County furniture stores (I like to buy locally) and decided to make a major purchase at HomeSpace. Every step of the way, during multiple visits to the store, I was helped by the manager, Dan. I rarely encounter such superior, professional and patient customer service.

What a pleasure to work with him. I can't recommend him enough. When I needed help with some design ideas, I hired Stacia, their in-house designer. She was superb, efficient, friendly, fun - and with an excellent sense of spatial design and a deep knowledge of inventory. I ran into a delivery problem at one point, and the way in which it was handled was well, true demonstration of excellent service. All my phone interactions with other staff were also positive. Great team!

I made my first purchase here today. They have a relatively good variety of styles in their showroom. But, the biggest peek is that they have numerous options to customize your pieces! I have been checking in periodically for a media stand. But, hadn't found what I was looking for until today. They had one made of reclaimed wood for a California company. An it was just the right size. So, I was able to have sustainability and function. I am very happy with my purchase.

I had been shopping mattresses for over a year and on a whim I went with my wife to SC41 to look at side tables. We looked at their side tables. then started looking at mattresses. I was less concerned with the overall presentation and more concerned with finding a mattress that was not going to let me down. The right mattress was all that mattered.

Long story short, we pulled the trigger on an SC41 mattress, 2 oxygen pillows and mattress cover. The mattress was delivered on a Tuesday (Feb 2014) and that night, my life was transformed. My old mattress had left me with severe shoulder pain. Within three days I was sleeping on my back again and my should paid was subsiding. More so than the pain relief, I felt like I was on vacation. Sleeping had immediately taken on a whole new meaning, I couldn't wait to get in bed and get cozy. this was my first king size bed and the comfort, the size and overall quality were realized that day.

It is now 2 months later, I couldn't be happier. The mattress is great, the delivery people were great, sales staff were great, and I tell everyone I know about my experience. The pillow is worth the money, the pillow case and mattress pad/cover are worth the investment. We are very pleased.

I purchased my first couch from Homespace in October 2013. I was on a little bit of a budget, and the staff worked with me extensively to pick a couch that met my needs. I ended up ordering a custom covered sofa, with matching throw pillows. The price was very reasonable, and I could pick out all the color options I wanted. I was thrilled to have so many options for colors and patterns.

Plus I was glad to have the expertise of the sales ladies when it came to picking a material that was pet safe! I did receive the sofa with a scuffed foot and a weird bleached mark on one of the pillows, but I didn't worry about it. The couch looks great still and it super comfortable. I will come back again to purchase more furniture.
