Artcraft Furniture Refinishing ArtCraft Refinishing comes from a long line of artisans and makers, beginning with Edward Fortin Piano Restoration in Salem, Massachusetts. His son, Roland Fortin, founded ArtCraft in Boise after World War II. Ownership and management was passed down to Roland's daughters, Janet and Char, and Janet's husband, Curt Wonacott. Through a chance encounter, Curt met Joshua Pew, a woodworker who recently returned to Boise from Portland. Joshua received a BFA in woodworking from the Oregon College of Art and Craft in 2015.

Josh & all the employees are great. They repaired several pieces of furniture that were damaged in my move to Idaho. They are personable and do excellent work. I highly recommend Artcraft.

One of our dining room chairs was accidently broken by a grandchild. The set is antique and passed down through the family. The gentlemen at Artcraft assured me it could be fixed. It looks like nothing had ever happened to it! Due to the isolation we are in, the guys even delivered the completed chair. I highly recommend this business!

I'm sure the past reviewers received better service than we did-- but Artcraft is so overwhelmed with their volume of business, their effort and workmanship have suffered and they are not worth their elevated charges. We waited months with our table at their workshop without them ever working on it- when they finally got around to it, they had completely forgotten what the finish should be.

So they just picked one and delivered it to us. They did agree to resolve the issue, but when it was finally delivered, it was covered with so much dust it was apparent no one had so much as taken a look at the refinishing before it was loaded in the truck for delivery. This process took six months and we are just relieved to have it over. We do not recommend them.

"An absolutely remarkable job!" That was my husband's asessment, with exclamatory emphasis, of the work Curt from ArtCraft did in repairing surface and finish damage done to several different pieces of furniture during a recent move. First class work and all of it done on prem but for one metal based table that needed to go into their shop for paint match repair.

Extremely professional from appointement scheduling, to follow up confirmation, to arriving on time and prepared for the work to be done based on damage report submitted to the moving company. The icing on the cake was that boh Curt who did this remarkable work and Char at the office who contacted us to schedule and follow up were such nice people.

Since the moving company is paying the bill given the damage was caused by careless handling in loading the truck, I can't speak to the cost for this top notch service. But whatever it is, it is worth it. Highly recommended.

ArtCraft sent a guy to my home to look at a large piece of damaged furniture. He advised me it wasn't worth the cost of repair (true) but took away a broken cabinet door. Fixed it stronger than before. I did have to nag a little to get my small job done on time but he did an excellent job.
