I am very frustrated and disappointed in the service and products I have purchased from VerHalen / Pella. After contacting them multiple times, I finally got a call back and had to play phone tag for them to finally get me some information about replacement weatherstrips, even though they had my email the whole time and could have sent it over. I was finally able to order, and requested a single astragal weatherstrip for one side of my door, as well as a singe strike weather strip.
I was charged $140 for these two pieces and shipping which seemed to be a little pricy, but I was happy to purchase since it was for my Pella specific doors. I received four astragal pieces, and a single strike 4 weeks after ordering, even though I live just two hours from their warehouse. I have request a return on the 3 pieces I don't need. Also the fact that I needed to provide my door's serial number to order these and they aren't even trimmed to the correct length is pretty frustrating.
When I called and placed the order, the operator told me I would be receiving instructions, and that I could schedule installation with them if I couldn't figure it out. but there was nothing but the weatherstripping in the box. Contacted them today via their live chat since I can't seem to get a representative's email. Hopefully they'll be able to help with these issues, but with how hard it was to simply place the order. I'm not hopeful.

While products are great, they are a poor distributor. We spent thousands on new windows with the vertical blinds in between the window panes. Again, a great product. What I didn't know is if the blinds break, which they ultimately do, Ver Halen tells you they won't fix them. Minimum $500 for replacement. If I knew that I wouldn't have purchased.

This letter is to inform you that we are dissatisfied with purchase and installation of Pella replacement windows by Ver Halen Inc. The windows in our house are 30 years old and we were interested in a full frame replacement of windows and patio door in portion of the house. We had several meeting with the Sales Rep. from the company Mr. Steven Marsac and discussed multiple options for the project. However, it was not explained that there are different options for window replacement.
The proposals as well as the catalogs provided by the company did not explain the difference between full frame and pocket replacement. We have signed the contract in good faith expecting complete replacement of our existing windows including the frames. After the 1st day of installation we realized that replaced windows are "pocket fit replacements" and leave the existing old window frames.
This was not what we expected and we were dissatisfied that this form of replacement leaves the old rotten frames in place and provides windows with the glass area smaller then the original windows. We have put a halt to further installation and requested from Ver Halen Inc. a new stet of full frame replacement windows. My wife and I discussed the problem with the representative of Ver Halen Inc. Mr. Scott Gutowski, but he has not been able to provide any options beside the pocket replacements.
