Unfortunately the customer service regarding warranty claims is sub optimal. We paid for the platinum service on our couch, which has needed to be serviced twice in the two years since we purchased it. The most recent claim started on April 14th, and now, two months later, the couch is still broken, and the warranty claims department doesn't respond to our emails. I'd recommend not buying from JVS or Ashley. Also, I'd recommend not buying their platinum protection since you will probably get quicker results rebuilding your own couch.

The gentleman that helped my family tried his best to answer my questions. He didn't seem to have the knowledge of the product since he was reading the same information I could see online. I was told the day before I would get $50.00 off of my purchase which in the grand sceam of things was not that much but it nonetheless was not taken off our bill. Overall it was a pleasant experience. They were not pushy and were willing to make the process happen as quickly as possible.

Being able to look freely was a pleasure. The salesman was very accommodating by checking in with us regularly to see if we had questions or concerns. After making a decision on a purchase we were treated with kindness and ease in making the final paperwork go smoothly. The salesman made the entire process easy and painless. I would shop at John V. Schultz anytime and refer others to shop there also.

Matt was very helpful. He spent a great deal of time with us without constantly trying to up sale. As a result we made a new friend and purchased a lot more (all the furniture for our new home) than what we came in to accomplish (just get some ideas). We greatly appreciated his knowledge, his being willing to admit if he didn't know the answer but taking the time to find said answer, and his ability to guide us to exactly what we were looking for. I work in sales and Matt made the our shopping experience very pleasant indeed.

My 77 year old mother was in the market for a new couch. I have had success in the past with John V so I decided to take her there. Mike and Ken were amazing. Showed he so many options. Ken was amazing at assisting her to find a material and color that she was pleased with. They were more concerned in keeping the price lower than she was. Good to see employees that truly care about there customers in this day and age. Well done gentlemen.

My husband and I went to the store looking for a new couch and chair. We were prepared to make a large purchase but needed to find the style that matched our needs. We walked into the store and sat on every couch in the store, walked the entire length of the huge store, moved pillows and got out our measuring tape AND WE WERE NEVER APPROCHED BY THE SALES ASSOCIATES!
We were in the store for at least 45 minutes and there were MANY people working there and very few customers and not one person even said HELLO! We even ran into someone in a different department, and they just pointed where to find what we were looking for! Very disappointed in this well-known local store and will take our business elsewhere.

I purchased a bedroom set less than 2 years ago. The side rail recently split in two. it wasn't even real wood, it was fiberboard. There was no reason for it to split so I assume it was damaged when I got it. When I called the service center I was told my furniture was no longer under warranty and I would have to purchase the replacement. Then I was told they can only order them in sets of two.
This was going to cost me approximately $300. I told them I was willing to pay for one but I didn't feel I should have to pay $150 for a piece I didn't need. The people I spoke to understood and said they would talk to their supervisor. I never got a call back. I have called over 7 times, each time I was told they would see what they could do and call me back.
They never did. My daughter has now been without a bed for a month and a half. The service Center is horrible. For the money you spend on what you assume is real wood you would think the service department would be better. Hi, and my family, I've been purchasing furniture there for years. That will end.

I) Came to the store for July 4th sale. Only ~3 other customers in the store. Way more employees inside. Did two laps in the store. Stood by the bedroom set I wanted. Took measurements. Inspected it. Took photos. Texted family for opinions and got replies. 40 minutes elapsed before someone finally approached me to say hi and for a sale. Not a huge deal because I got all of the above done, but just bad form and creates a negative image. ii) Was told 4-6 week wait time for what I wanted.
After two separate deliveries I'm still missing a bed. We're at the 13th week now. Reported issue now is wait time on slats which is now quoted as December.6 months for slats?! It's literally just wood. Slats are just wood cut from stock lumber and then finished. A middle school wood-shop student can make them. Anyway, a sale is a deal. Don't make promises you can't keep.off by 7 weeks and counting.
I have a mattress on the floor still, so have had to keep the plastic on it. No one has reached out to make up for the delay. iii) To schedule deliveries and get status on orders, I've called a few times in August during posted open hours. No one answers the phone. It is always towards the end of the day, so maybe the hours are incorrect. I gave up and drove there myself.

My previous experiences with this store were actually very positive. My wife ordered a bed online and it was delivered to our house a month and a half later. We set up the bed and it broke within 5 minutes of us sitting on it. After many calls to corporate I finally got to talk to a human being who said they would send out a replacement but would not offer any time range on when we received it.
I offered to keep the bed and repair it for a discount and they offered me 10% of the original purchase price. Meanwhile we have a broken bed and are out the money we used to pay for it. This happened about a month ago and I have not heard a thing from the company. I'm very disappointed in the quality and the customer service. I called customer service again 4.5 months after the original order. They said they wouldn't do anything because it's after 30 days but the only reason it took this long was because of their lack of communication.
I offered to keep the bed and repair it for a discount and they offered me 10% of the original purchase price. Meanwhile we have a broken bed and are out the money we used to pay for it. We picked out a sectional set and once we were told it was gonna take weeks to receive it we said we didn't want it. The sales associate Lloyd did his magic on the computer and all of a sudden said yes it would be available and will be delivered next week. So we cleared out the old furniture and waited for the new stuff to come. The day of delivery comes no call no furniture so we called them they say oh no that's just an estimated date of arrival your furniture won't be coming for two more weeks.
So a few days pass and we get a phone call we can get you on the truck by Friday for sure they will call you with a time of delivery in the next couple of days. Couple of days pass we get another car oh nn't get you on the truck it's gonna be another week before you get your furniture. So we have been sitting with no furniture in our living room for will be three weeks.
Also we bought a $5000 mattress from them a year agoWhen it came in my husband was about to put the sheets on it we realized oops it was the wrong mattress somehow they had delivered my expensive mattress to the customer before us so their solution was to go back to the customers house and get the mattress off the bed and bring it to me. Spend your money elsewhere. Probably online would be better. I purchased two of the same exact couch for my living room in March of this year. Delivered in April, not too long of a wait. Because of COVID they couldn't deliver into the home (understandable) so they dropped them in the front yard for me. I got them in and unboxed and within a week the seams were starting to split.
I thought "no problem I got the warranty" so I called to open a repair request. They were not doing in home repairs at the time (again, because of COVID so I understand) but called me back about a month and a half later to set things up once they resumed repairs. Said it would take 2-3 weeks to get the parts and they'd call me back. 2 months later I call, no parts, and they have no idea where they are.
They contact the vendor who says they don't know when they'll ship them. Call a couple of weeks later, still nothing. Call last week and they say they still don't know but would contact me by last Friday and if they didn't hear anything they'd issue a store credit. Never heard from them. Call today and they still don't know where the parts are.
I finally just ask to return the couches. They tell me they can't until they try to repair the issue. like I've been trying to for three months. At this point I could have raised the cows myself and harvested the leather already. Given they're the same exact couch with the same exact problem I suspect even if they do get repaired (likely in 2023 at this point) that the issue will quickly return. It's obvious the manufacturer is putting out a poor quality product, but the store doesn't care because they have my money already. Stick to Wayfair or Overstock Erie. John V Shultz sees junk quality items from partners that they let walk all over them.

I typically don't make posts about my frustrations but I am so irritated and unimpressed with John V. Schultz. When you spend a decent amount of money on furniture, you expect quality. I know in the future I will be taking my business elsewhere. I always thought of John V. Schultz as a decent furniture company but they have really gone downhill.
I ordered our bedroom set April 23, 2020. It was suppose to be delivered May 6, 2020. I received a call that week notifying me that it will have to be rescheduled for May 16, 2020 because of shipping delays. Fine. Our bedroom set got delivered on May 16, 2020. although very similar, the bed frame that was delivered was the wrong one, noting a $500 price difference.
I called them the next day and was rescheduled to receive the correct bed frame for June 10, 2020. On June 10, our correct bed frame was delivered, however, the head board was damaged. The delivery men told us that they will be calling us within a week to have it fixed and that we will receive a new head board. a week goes by, no call. I called them on June 19 and asked them when I should be expecting a new headboard.
I was told that they can deliver it Tuesday, June 23. Well today is Tuesday. never received a notification that they will be coming so I called. Apparently they forgot to schedule me for today after being told last week that I should be expecting them.

Very disappointed in service and follow up. We bought a recliner on special order and was told 4 to 6 weeks delivery. We called to check status because no one contacted us, and were then told 6 to 8 weeks. We are close to 8 week mark and called again on status, only to be told another 4 to 6 weeks! Heck, I could have driven to NC and picked it up!
They have MADE NO ATTEMPT to make things right or any other contact, but hey they got their money! So if you are doing any kinda special orders be prepared to see your item 6 months later! Totally poor handling of the whole transaction.

Was very upset because sofa was supposed to be delivered on a Wednesday and we called Wednesday am when we had not heard from them. They stated it wouldn't be delivered until Saturday. I was so upset! We had already moved our old couch and this was a big deal. We finally got it resolved and received our sofa on Friday afternoon. I do love it and the price was great, so, even though the delivery was messed up, I would shop there again.

I would give 0 stars if that was an option. I have purchased 2 couches from them in the last 3 months, both were delivered damaged. I took the last one to the store to show them the damage and they "fixed" it by drilling a hole in my brand new couch to hold the leg in. Needless to say, this couch is being returned and I will never do business with them again. The customer service was awful, I had to file a dispute with my credit card company just to get a manager to call me back.

Do not waste your time buying the platinum warranty. It covers absolutely nothing! The furniture they sell is junk. Our furniture isn't even 4 years old and when we purchased it from there it was top of the line. There are only two normal sized adults who use the furniture part of the time and the cushions are junk and rip. Customer service and the service technician are not helpful.
They just want more of your money! You can see the wood coming through on the arms and I was told that's how all furniture is now days. This shouldn't happen from minimal use. Don't waste your time or money at this store!

HORRIBLE! NO STARS would be better. I have had 5 deliveries to my home with something missing, broken or repairmen who are unprepared to make it right. Customer service says sorry but are not entertaining anything that would make it right for their customer. Believe these reviews and don't go there for furniture, if you are there turn and leave immediately. I am trying to save you time and money!

This was my worst experience made me wait for two weeks for delivery after paying. On the day of delivery give me a time frame of 3 hours then call 10 min. Before the time is up said they were going to be late.had to pick up my kids was 15 min away they told me they couldn't wait.call the store very rude pretty much told me it was my fault I wasn't there I will never step foot in the store

Sheesh, they're like a nightmare ex who stalks you after you buy from them! "We purchased two mattresses from you about a year ago, then somehow were placed on your letter-spam list. It took some doing but we opted out and finally got off the list. Now, just a few minutes ago, I received an autodial PHONE CALL spam from you.
I lost track of the project I was working on because of your interruption, thanks for nothing. People actually talk to others about how annoying your marketing is, from the loud commercials to the spam mail, and now even phone calls. IRRITATING. Knock it off! Next time we need to buy furniture, WE WILL COME TO YOU. Actually, we probably won't, we'll go somewhere that IS NOT IRRITATING. Goodbye!"

Thank goodness I took my complaint to the credit bureaus & they got Wells Fargo involved. After Wells Fargo reviewed my complaint, they agreed to remove the transaction from my credit score. This is finally over! :::whew::: = This was the most time consuming, stress inducing purchase I've ever made. I'm so relieved that I can finally put my John V experience behind me.
