I had another great interaction with store manager, Cindy, who is an expert when it comes to Pompanoosuc Mills furniture. I can't imagine how many pieces of Pompanoosuc Mills furniture that we have, but it's a lot, some of the pieces as old as 15 years, and the style of the furniture seems to stay current (and not "age"), the quality of the furniture is superb, and the woods and finishes are quite spectacular.
The majority of our furniture has been "customized" to our specifications, and we are very pleased with the process and outcomes. I would enthusiastically encourage you to visit a Pompanoosuc Mills showroom, and to buy their furniture. I imagine Pompanoosuc Mills furniture and service will satisfy the most discerning customers.

I recently assisted my mom with a sofa and chair purchase at this location. We had done some furniture shopping elsewhere and neither of us were particularly impressed with the offerings at other stores. I'm pretty sure she had her heart set on the items she ended up buying here, but the prices are enough to make anyone pause, and she wanted to check out the competition.
So we both found out that there really is no competition for Pompanoosuc Mills. If you have an eye for quality, you'll probably understand as soon as you walk through the door, as this furniture is gorgeous. Simple, tasteful and elegant. I was impressed with the fabric choices and the different finishes they offer on the wood. All of these items are locally made at their Vermont factory, so you're supporting American made when you shop here.
While I know that the prices might seem high to some, these pieces are not mass produced, and each is made to order. There's nothing like handcrafted, heirloom quality furniture. David and Barbara were both exceptionally helpful and patient, and both of them spent considerable time with us explaining our options and helping us make choices. Go in and check out this beautiful showroom!

The furniture here is top quality! Nothing has a case of the wobbles. The prices are high end, but you get what you pay for. And these pieces will last generations. They have classic pieces and contemporary pieces. The staff here is so nice. A gorgeous showroom! I can't wait to get one of these kitchen islands, and a HUGE communal table like the one in their display window.

Funiture is fantastic. Even more fantastic is the manager of the store, Ms. Cindy Lynch, who demonstrated and offered effective assistance and care for the customer. I bought trundle bed with trundle platform. The manager spent time to explain different types of hardwood, their unique characteristics, and how to choose futon mattress. Previously I bought furniture from Crate & Barrel and Ethan Allen, but because of the manager, I would like to always consider Pompy now and in the future.

FABULOUS selection of beautifully handmade furniture.made in New England and great customer service. I hadn't been in this store for years. But the new window displays really pulled me in and I am so glad. Got a gorgeous bed on sale and beautiful chest of drawers. I will definitely be back. So glad I went in.

I absolutely love Pompanoosuc Mills furniture. It is beautiful and well crafted. That is why I decided to invest in a new dining room set from this store. I have a very large dining room and when I say invest, I do mean that I dropped quite a chunk of change here. So I was pleasantly surprised when my furniture arrived prior to the Thanksgiving holiday, though I had been led to believe that I wouldn't get it until early December.
The pleasantness of the surprise was short-lived however as the fumes of the polyurethane it was finished with caused me headaches and sinus congestion for weeks! When I spoke to the store manager to report a minor imperfection in the finish I also took the opportunity to mention the fumes and the fact that I felt I should have been warned of this ahead of time. And, that the furniture really should have been held at the mill until it had completely off-gassed.
Her stance was that the fumes really couldn't be that bad and that I most certainly had been aware of the polyurethane finish when I purchased the furniture so shouldn't be surprised by it. In fairness, I was given a discount due to the imperfection, so that does count in their favor. However, I really feel that if you are selling such an expensive and hand-crafted product that there should be more discussion up front about the use of potentially toxic finishes. I also had to request printed instructions for care of the furniture -- something that almost all furniture from any retail store would come with automatically.

This is definitely not my kind of furniture. The wood is too light, the lines are all 'forced' to look cool, but fail - and the showroom is loaded with so many audubon-esque pictures and statues that only a 50-something from central Iowa could likely appreciate. Add to that ridiculous price tags, and you are pretty much guaranteed I am walking out of here with wallet untouched.
But I will browse, just to check things out - and I do appreciate local woodwork craftsmanship. But the best (?) thing about this place is that, while browsing in a mostly empty store, a sales clerk struck up a conversation with me - weather, what am I looking for, etc - 5 minutes or more we chatted then I wandered off. 5 minutes later she introduced herself to me again, as if the previous conversation never took place. Odd, no?
