When Walter Smith was a child, he wasn't old enough to be in the Boys' Club Woodshop so he started sweeping floors to earn his way up. He loved the furniture so much that he decided to become a doctor - a furniture doctor. Now his business, The Furniture Doctor, occupies four buildings along the 3000 block of Peach Orchard Road.
Some of the areas we service in South Carolina covers: North Augusta, Aiken, Edgefield, Beech Island, Jackson, Clearwater and Monticello. We provide services outside our normal range. Please contact our office if you have a special job (chances are - we can do it.)

I think this company is awesome friendly staff. The owner does fantastic work. I am amazed at how he can restore some of the difficult broken items. He will return your furniture back as if it was brand new. Although it's a long waiting list on returns he is worth it. The man has incredible skills. Clean shop and well organized. I could watch him all day I have the broken dining chair leg in for repair now.

I have to wait perhaps 4 to 6 months yet the finished product is worth it. The movers damaged it and he will provide me with the screws as well that were also missing. If you have broken items don't throw them away allow the furniture doctor to restore them whole again. I promise his prices are reasonable and you won't need to do any follow up appointments!

Sold me more then I needed and argued about the return. Still waiting on my refund after being charged a restocking charge of putting it back on the shelf. Not my kind of place.

Fabulous work. Repaired a flood damaged coffee table I thought was ruined.it is beautiful. Also did some repair to a very old roll top piece that has been in my family for several generations. Again, beautiful work. I found prices reasonable for craftsmanship work. Does take some time to complete. don't be in a hurry. But well worth it for investment pieces or items of personal value.

The artisans at furniture doctor restored my grandmother's piano from ALL of the damage from my horrifying military move. The workmanship was delightful and the pride that they took in their work was well deserved. I would trust them with any family heirloom, as they have already treated my most cherished family heirloom with the respect and dignity it deserved.

We are so thankful for our experience with Bruce and his crew! We had a lot of water damage to our furniture and household goods related to a move halfway across the country and when we were introduced to Bruce and the staff at Furniture Doctor, it was immediate relief. They were so compassionate and thoughtful regarding our needs and did everything they could to make the process efficient and smooth. Bruce personally sorted through such a disaster to ensure he found the things that he knew were irreplaceable and near and dear to our hearts.

Then they restored them and made them like new! Not to mention, they were so fast and professional at getting them back to us and installed without even having too. Going through such a messy move with so much of our things lost, it meant the absolute world to us to be treated so well and feel like we were in such good hands. If you take nothing but one thing from this review, it is that you will receive top quality and excellent service from this organization. Thank you Bruce, crew, and staff for taking such good care of us!

We were in the remodeling phase of our kitchen and needed some expertise in refinishing and staining. We chose Furniture Doctors. We needed our 10' X 3'butcher block island refinished. We also had an unstained maple pantry door that we 'hoped' we could stain exactly to match our new cabinets. It took just a few days to receive them back.

They look Amazing and I have shared the pictures. For the door, we did provide the stain from the cabinet manufacturer and would recommend you do that. Maple is very hard to Stan, but if you look at the Pantry door and cabinets, you cannot see the difference. The butcher block looks brand new and it is just gorgeous. We are incredibly pleased with Furniture Doctors and will use them again!

This company is absolutely amazing! We had a chest of drawers that had racked up a list of things that needed to be fixed thanks to damage from too many army moves. The people at Furniture Doctor made this process super easy. I e-mailed photos and got a quote that same day. They picked up the dresser from our third floor apartment on a Friday and returned it the following Tuesday - I couldn't believe how fast they completed the work!

Their customer service was incredible and they even fixed a few things I hadn't noticed and did not charge me extra. The dresser looks like the day we bought it - I would highly recommend their services to anyone needing furniture repair!

Came here for some Tung Oil. Apparently they are the only people in Augusta who sell it! I had great service. The lady who helped me was extremely knowledgeable, answering all my questions about several things. It's a neat little old shop. If you're working with old wood I'd highly recommend a stop here!

Furniture Doctor, Inc is the epitome of expertise & professionalism, and will remain our go to source for local furniture repair. We were lucky enough to find them when our household furniture was severely damaged during a move. They were able to do all the repairs in our home, and the repairs are virtually undetectable. They took the time to repair and blend each piece of solid wood furniture so carefully, the pieces were returned to like new status.

We were so impressed that we have entrusted then to restore several heirloom and antique pieces. They were able to pick up, restore and deliver our desk within a week, and miraculously repaired a precious chair that had deep "puppy-teething" marks! Bruce and all of the staff are extremely professional and we recommend Furniture Doctor, Inc whole-heartedly!
