I have a Whalen insert fireplace model #6909450159. I discovered a unique thing about this fireplace. I was awaken the first time around 3:00am with the fireplace turning on for about 15-30 seconds then a bell rang. The other 2-3 times it has turned on again at 3:00am then 5:00am but no bell. The fireplace was completely turned off. The last time it turned on, I had turned it on and went to the timer and put it to off.
The next morning around 5am it turned on, ran a bit and turned off. Is this is problem your company has encountered with this particular model? I just want to know if the fireplace is safe to continue using. I read a review about fireplaces having fuses. If this is a fuse causing this, please advise and if I would be able to replace it. It is just odd that the fireplace is turned off and it starts itself.
No power lights are on during this temporary run time. It is like it may be resetting itself but I don't know if that is what it should be doing. Whalen does not seem to care and does not reply to Online Customer Complaints.

I needed a replacement gas lift cylinder for a chair manufactured/sold by Whalen Furniture. The chair was a bit more than a year old and must have been a fluke bad one because I have older chairs that have had a lot of use and the cylinders have not failed. Whalen sent me a replacement cylinder, in the midst of this pandemic, and now we are back to adjusting seat height without using several cushions. Great customer service from Whalen!

One month ago I purchased a desk. What should have been a simple assembly was made very difficult by the construction of the side drawers. In order to put on the legs the side drawers had to be removed. They were very difficult to remove. I have never had so much trouble with removing a drawer. I went back to the store to get advice and still could not get them out.
Finally I did so by using a letter opener on the tiny latch that was the key to the removal. Poor engineering. Then the center drawer screws came out during assembly. They were very tiny and inadequate for holding the folding front of the center drawer properly. Again, poor engineering. I removed the screws and added my own screws to make it secure.
I had to call customer service and I must say they were responsive and helpful. They offered a new center drawer for nothing but there was no point since the work I did was better than their original construction. Now that these initial problems are resolved I do like the desk. For the cost it is a decent product, attractive and actually quite solid and well made. If not for the drawer problems I would have given them a 4 or 5 grade.

I bought a desk and lost the assembly instructions. Contacted Whalen on Sunday via the online contact form. On Monday, 8:39AM I received an email with instructions attached. After reading the manual, realized I am missing couple of parts. Contacted on Tuesday at 3:53PM, sent them an email with description what is missing. Same day at 4:42PM, less than an hour later I got their reply with shipping information, parts are on the way and will be here in 7-10 days. 6 days later parts arrived, free of charge.
In my experience, they stand behind their products, customer service is great, respond in timely manner. Positive experience and will not hesitate to buy another product from them.

This stuff is absolute junk! Not only is it junk the service on the phone is worse. I received a table 4 chairs and a bench all items came damaged and especially the top of the table. I called and left my phone number and they never called back then the next day waited on hold for 2 hours and was told they wanted to discount the item to me but the damage was so severe it wasn't worth 25 dollars and told them I would wait for replacement. 4 month later only a leg showed up and thought I should call and follow up and waited again on hold for an hour. Rhe girl answered and said how denied the 10 percent off and the best she could do was have me wait for another 3 month due to the back up and was more rude than anything else. At that point I thought I needed to call walmart and get a refund. Which they did after verification on my claim. SCREW YOU THE PEOPLE WANT A FAIR HANDSHAKE.

Absolutely horrible in every way! Do not buy from this store or purchase any Whalen Furniture from another retail store. I bought a dining room table and it came damage on Jan 1 2018. I contacted customer service and it took over a week to get a response, which only came after I wrote a negative review on Facebook (which was deleted) and they told me it would be 10 weeks to replace the damaged piece.
I said no problem. Going on 9 months later and still no replacement! And zero communication from the company. After another negative Facebook posts they finally responded to my email requesting a status update and told me after 9 months of waiting that they would not be able to replace the damaged furniture and offered me minimal compensation. Mind you I was told 2 months ago my furniture would be delivered as soon as the freight was unloaded. Horrible horrible horrible! And I agreed to the minimal monetary compensation 3 days ago and now once again I can't get a response back.

I recently bought (4) leather bar stools manufactured by Whalen Furniture. One of the stools was missing a knob on the end of the hydraulic adjustment lever. As per the instructions enclosed with the products, I contact their customer service via their website. NO ANSWER. Deafening silence. I was forced to return one bar stool and purchase another.
All because they could not answer an email and mail a tiny part. CUSTOMER SERVICE - Terrible. Products - made in China. Quality - Great. What good is their 1 year warranty if they do not respond after repeated requests?
