Novello Furniture was opened in 1981 by Edward Polli, a second-generation furniture retailer originally from Bradford, Vermont. Ed grew up working from the bottom up at A.E. Hale Furniture Company, which was owned by his father, Vincent. The name Novello was coined by Ed's maternal grandmother, Lucia Leani, of northern Italian decent.

We purchased a La-Z-Boy sofa and loveseat. We waited eight months for delivery. We received the loveseat first and it was comfortable, we received the sofa afterwards and the cushions were very hard and not comfortable. A definite difference between loveseat and sofa. We had a technician come out from La-Z-Boy and he said that they would swap the cushions on the sofa either with the showroom model or order new ones.

I waited two weeks and called Novello's for follow up and they said the technician said there was nothing they could do. That is a complete lie and I am so upset. I called the store and talk to a manager and he said there was nothing they could do. So needless to say we will not be shopping there again and neither will any of my friends. Word of mouth is the worst advertising for you today.

I purchased a couch March 26, 2021. I was told because of Covid it would be delayed until the first week of August. I've called since then weekly fo check on the availability since then and have been told the delivery day is pushed back another week. I called today and was told the pieces are back ordered and the manager has been trying to get ahold of the manufacturer. Why am I JUST hearing this when I ordered this couch in March?! This is so unprofessional and I wouldn't recommend them at all.

Let me start off by stating that I have purchased furniture from Novello for many years, spent thousands of dollars there and their employees always promote their Furniture Care Protection "insurance" that covers virtually anything according them. I am also in need of all furniture to furnish a new home in the coming months, I am talking every piece of furniture for every room. Novello has not only lost all my future business but also all my respect!

I recently just placed a claim on a dining room table set and my daughters footboard (both products just under 1 year old). The tables finishing is coming off from where you set your dinner plates and the table and chairs have multiple scratches and chips. The footboard has a chunk missing from the corner from a kid stepping on it and it chipped off.

Upon placing my claim with the Furniture Care Protection they instructed me to take very detailed pictures and send them along. After weeks of review the claim was denied as it was not a single incident but they claimed it as 6 incidents (1 table, 4 chairs, 1 footboard) and its normal wear and tear. I promptly called Novello to make a complaint and let them know my dissatisfaction.

Sue their Manager did call the protection company and promptly called me back to explain their reasoning but stands behind their decision to deny the claim. She suggested I go buy a Black and Brown Sharpie and color in the chips and scratches. What a F'ing Joke and absolutely ridiculous! She wants me to color my furniture to "fix" it. I will NEVER shop there again, they have lost all my business and respect!

I ordered a couch on May 18th and it still has not come. It is now July 21st and I still don't have it. I wanted to keep my business local, was told all the trucks this week are booked they will put me in next week around 7/27. That is a 10 week turn around.

We had an old LazyBoy Loveseat with a broken cable. Sue Hennessey at Novello in Berlin was wonderful. We had not bought this loveseat from Novello. She ordered the part needed and sent a great repair man to our house. He not only repaired the loveseat, he left an extra cable and told my husband how to fix it if the other cable broke. He was prompt, . efficient, knowledgeable, pleasant and careful about wearing a mask and sanitizing everything as he went.

He even checked our other LazyBoys to be sure they were in good repair. PLUS the company was trying hard to keep on salary all it's employees through the shut-down. Good for them.

We have purchased multiple pieces of furniture from this location in Barre. Service and quality have never been an issue. However, pricing is high and when compare to store like the Furniture Superstore which sells name brand quality pieces as well, they price themselves out of a sale

Salesperson Ian Doig gets a 5-star rating for being helpful, knowledgeable, kind and patient and maintaining his sense of humor whilst we put him on a forced march through the recliner section of the store with my 98-year-old mother in tow. As 30+ year customers of Novello Furniture, we were extremely pleased with our most recent experience. One caveat: Customers should be aware that the store charges a hefty 25% re-stocking fee on returned items.

We bought a new recliner there. The selection was limited, as I wanted a recliner, not a rocker. There weren't many fabric/color choices, however, I did find one that I liked. The price was in the range that I expected.

Weeks before my wife returned from hospital and rehab (a shattered pelvis), I ordered a bed for her online. The delivery company based in Williston refused to deliver the bed. I called Novello Furniture. They had a bed available and because it was later in the day on a Friday. a Novello employee, Ian, offered to deliver the bed after work. Wow! Ian came to Woodbury with the bed and set it up for us.

Both my wife and I were deeply touched by his kindness and compassion. It was not our first purchase from Novello and this experience underscores the benefit of buying from a local Vermont business. There are only five stars to choose from but if there were a hundred stars I'd check them all. Thank you Novello and thank you Ian!

We have purchased two items of furniture at this store. The first was a lovely couch we purchased at Ashley (the bottom half of the store). That item came in when promised and we are still very happy with the couch. The second item was a recliner that we purchased over 6 weeks ago from the upper half of the store. We have yet to actually receive the chair.

When I purchased the recliner, we were told that it "may take up to six weeks, but probably not that long." Apparently the item was waiting in the warehouse in Williston for a few days and got lost in the shuffle. It would have been nice if some compensation had been offered--store credit, free delivery, something like that. Each time I spoke with someone I got an apology, but nothing more. I give three stars because I had one good experience and one bad experience.

My grandparents bought a chair from here the 6th of January, they took the tags off and wrapped it up for them. We just cleaned out the old chair today and as soon as we took the chair out there was a hole right under the right side arm! A $300 chair should not come with a hole within 6 days of purchase, and before it was even sat in.

We bought a futon from Novello in the summer of 2014. Last weekend (January 2016) one of the pieces on the back of the futon broke. I called Novello to find out if there was a warranty and, unfortunately, the warranty was only for a year. But I spoke with Nikki and she said she thought that maybe they had the piece in the warehouse and said she'. d let me know.

She called back within 24 hours and they had the part! Best part was that they didn't charge us for it. Super awesome! We'll be recommending Novello to everyone we know from now on. Thanks!
