Home & Backyard furnishings was established in early 2008 and operates its online retail store under two domain names: homeandbackyard.com & uniquecopper.com. Our goal is to provide unique products that are designed and manufactured with great care to provide consumers the best quality home, patio and backyard furnishings.

Our extensive knowledge of and professional experience working with metals, tropical hardwoods and solar power can be seen in every product we sell. We have relationships with a select group of third party manufacturers that allow us to offer our customers the highest quality metal, tropical hard wood & plastic home and outdoor products in the marketplace at considerable value pricing.

The majority of the tropical hard wood furniture products sold on HomeandBackyard.com are made from FSC Certified woods. Specifically the outdoor dining tables, chairs, loungers, benches and table & chair sets from Unique Arts and International Home (found in the Outdoor Furniture section of our site) are made from FSC Certified Eucalyptus.

The FSC certification means that the producers of these products had to meet a long list of environmentally responsible, socially equitable, and economically viable forest practices.

FSC sets forth principles, criteria, and standards that span economic, social, and environmental concerns. The FSC standards represent the world's strongest system for guiding forest management toward sustainable outcomes. Like the forestry profession itself, the FSC system includes stakeholders with a diverse array of perspectives on what represents a well-managed and sustainable forest. While the discussion continues, the FSC standards for forest management have now been applied in over 81 countries around the world.

Our initial supplier was and still is Unique Arts LLC, which is one of the premier manufacturers of copper, stainless steel and tropical hardwood lawn and garden products in the country. Unique Arts was founded in 1988 and is independently owned and operated. Unique Arts core product designer is a scientist with a PhD in Horticulture. He personally oversees and routinely visits their overseas production partners to ensure the aesthetic qualities and technical requirements of their product designs are continuously met. Only the products that meet their and our stringent requirements are offered to you on our website. We are thankful for their support.
