Thank you for your interest in my furniture. I hope that this catalog will serve as a good resource for English and Country French furniture of the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century. With good antique pieces becoming increasingly scarce, and with prices becoming increasingly prohibitive, well made reproductions are emerging as attractive, functional, durable and affordable alternatives.
The Old Timber Table Company is a true custom manufacturer and will build any piece to your exact specifications. However, I do have a basic design philosophy. Above all else, furniture should be pleasing to the eye. There were many disproportionate and awkward originals made, which some cabinetmakers replicate because of their unique looks.
The brass and pewter hardware of original pieces show the unmistakable signs of hand-craftsmanship. When antique hardware is not available, I have excellent sources that are able to supply hardware that is made in the same manner as the originals. Some reproduction brasses are either too thin and flimsy, or excessively thick and heavy.
