Nohea Gallery 32 years ago my Mom, Gail Baron, and I opened Nohea Gallery in the middle of Ward Warehouse. Since that day we opened locations at the Moana Hotel where we thrived for 13 years, on Maui at Whalers Village where we only lasted five, Ward Center in 1998 the first time we were told Ward Warehouse was coming down, downtown for a while, at the Kahala Hotel, and others.

Finally in 2017 Ward Warehouse really did close. We opened the same month at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki and a year later at Kahala Mall. Kahala Mall is our main location and is located in the Makai wing.

We are now open at both the Kahala and Waikiki locations, and we are very thankful for your support. We've been fulfilling online orders and shipping USPS or delivering at our door while only essential businesses were open. We are grateful to the artists, our team and to our wonderful customers for your support.
Here are some links to stories about the artists and team at Nohea Gallery, as well as a bit about Mom and I. Thanks everyone for 30 years sharing Hawaii's artists with our local people and the world. Mahalo nui loa to the best team we've ever worked with and crew who have gone on to do other things, including Chuck, Ann, Makena, Sam, Kaulana, Khedija, Colleen and others. We think of you all fondly and often. And then there was this, spotted on a plane going from London to who knows where in the great big world.

I've been a happy customer of Nohea Gallery for more than 20 years across three store locations. They provide the finest selection of handmade products from local artisans, friendliest customer service, and loveliest retail experience available in our state. Well worth a visit!

I absolutely love Nohea Gallery and the staff is amazing. Nohea is known for their great selection of handmade products which help to support local native artists in the community. This a great place to find that beautiful wedding or housewarming gift for your friends and family! This a store that has been around for years and they never disappoint. Aunty Helenes Lauhala necklaces are my favorite. Ask for Georgie when you go visit, she is so helpful and has been in retail for a long time. I adore her.

Super nice and helpful staff. They mailed our prints for us at no additional costs(other than what ups charges), which is super convenient for visitors to the island. They have a good selection of art from local artists. Update: We got prints delivered to our house 8 days after we bought them in the store, which I am very happy with. They did a super great job packing them.

Showcasing local Artisans, Nohea Gallery has curated a gorgeous collection of paintings, prints, jewelry, wooden serving pieces, koa carvings, ceramics and glassware. The pieces are just lovely making the purchasing decision difficult. It's not about "what should I buy?" but which should I buy! Laniki Beach is my absolute favorite place and there is an oil painting that captures the path leading to this little slice of paradise.

For $500, it's on my short list. They have a great assortment of high quality tea towels, tablecloths and napkins in gorgeous prints and colors, most in shades of the sea, sand and sky. They would make a lovrly gift or would set your own table apart. Even the small jewelry dishes are unique and beautiful. I especially like the ones with sea turtles and the ones with plumeria, my favorite flower.

The jewelry is delicate and most crafted with pears or aquamarine stones and coral. Available in gold and silver. There are earrings, necklaces, lots and lots of bracelets, rings. Wide assortment, something for everyone. If you are done with the mass produced items and want something unique, handmade and high quality that you will proudly display, wear or gift, stop by Nohea Gallery and find your treasure.

Lots of great original art work. Too expensive for me, although if I had the money to spare I would gladly purchase from artists featured here. In the past, I have ordered custom ring to be made from an artist and it was a very easy process where I paid half up front and the rest when completed and in my hand. Great service as a middle person to ensure I got what I desired.

My first experience with Nohea Gallery was a few years ago, while living on the island. Very courteous customer service and I at the time bought some small Koa reindeer. I recently contacted the gallery again because I would like to purchase some more of the reindeer. They not only responded to my email right away, they are searching around trying to find a few more of the reindeer for me, since the man who makes them is retiring. They could have just said, "Sorry, we're out." But they chose to go above and beyond to help me out. That is aloha. So I say Mahalo nui loa to the Nohea Gallery!

Among my favorite stores in Honolulu, this place and Na Mea. I love Nohea's selection of art and jewelry. I can always find a gift from Hawaii there or a treat for myself. The original Ward store was everything and now I think they are trying to find new ground with the Kahala store. I took a biki down to the one in Waikiki and it was nice but small and hard to get to as a local. I hope Nohea stays open forever!

We live in Honolulu, and Nohea Gallery is a one-of-a-kind gallery filled with unique items created by local artists. It's my go-to store for gift shopping for my wife, I always find something special. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful and frequently tells me something interesting about the artists. I like that!

I should have written this years ago, but as I look around my home and see the meaningful things I've gotten at Nohea Gallery over the years it makes me realize how much I value this unique place. I'm an artist (glass & mixed media) and a former sales staff member so I was blessed to see the sincere dedication and love for local art and artisans that Laurie and Gail have.

I loved working for them and I loved the enthusiasm they had for my glass work. In 35 of being a practicing artist I've learned Laurie and Gail are unique, true artist advocates. I have since moved to San Francisco but return to Oahu every year and always make sure to stop in their shops to connect with friends and add to my collection of local art.

Not only does Nohea Gallery have a beautiful selection of local art, from turned wood to paintings, owners Laurie and Gail have shown immense commitment to sharing artists' work while building relationships with them and customers. Nohea Gallery is an excellent place to find gifts that are works of art with sales staff who are happy to work with your needs.

The owners of this gallery are horrible, strange and are very demeaning and rude to their staff and artists. I cannot believe they are still in business. There are many other art galleries in Honolulu that have a more unique taste in art for more reasonable prices, and they treat their artisans and staff better. If I could give this gallery a 0 rating I would. Go somewhere else to buy a unique gift than Nohea Gallery. One where the owners know how to treat people with decency.

This is a wonderful shop at Ward Warehouse in Kaka'ako, Honolulu, which showcases the work of local artists of Hawaii! All types of media are used - metal, ceramics, glass, paper, as well as natural treasures like pearls and shells. There are wooden bowls, paintings of various sizes, pens, bookmarks, jewelry, and so much more! As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with a warm Aloha Spirit.

The lush surroundings enhance your shopping experience as you browse through the exquisite handmade products. Everything is unique and fabulous! Free parking is a bonus! Come and check out this shop if you want a special gift from Hawaii. Get a present for someone special or treat yourself to a quality souvenir! Aloha!

I wanted to buy something to remember my vacation to Hawaii, and found this art gallery. First off - they can and will ship items for very reasonable prices. I found items I really wanted that I hadn't been able to find on the main strip in Waikiki. It felt less "touristy" and more like a gallery that happens to be near a tourist destination.

It was relaxing to flip thru all the images and be away from the activity of Waikiki for an hour or so (and there is a coffee shop and bakery really close by if your vacation companions aren't into art they could check out some other great shops in the shopping center). I was tempted by beautiful Koa wood earrings (made locally, not made in China like some of the other earrings I had seen elsewhere), signed prints in multiple sizes, and original artwork in several mediums (watercolor, pastels, oils, glass, and ceramics).

I bought a print of a watercolor (inexpensive and easy to decide on), a pair of earrings (reasonably priced and easy to pack, right?), and an original piece that they shipped home for me. Some of their works are framed (they can have a shipping box built to protect the frame and glass) but a lot of them are just matted, which makes them lighter and easier to ship.

They contacted me to confirm my shipping preference (carrier and speed) with quotes, and it was more reasonable than I expected. I almost feel like they should have a sign saying, "example shipping cost for X size item to east coast USA is $24-$65, depending on speed". Last thing - their art selections range from traditional Hawaii subjects and scenes to more abstract ones. Neither piece I bought screams "coconut bra and grass skirt" but both remind me of the colors in Hawaii.

This is a really nice shop with high quality Hawaiian products. It shouldn't be missed. Everything in here is beautiful and worthy to take home or buy as gifts. Although I wouldn't get gifts myself since these products were also extremely high in price. I like my friends, but not that much. The most annoying thing was the woman that worked there stalked you, interrupted you all the time and told this story on how this dufus caught a shoplifter and became her hero.

I heard the story at least 29 other times each time a new customer came in that she could stalk. I would have bought something, but she drove me out of there. Perhaps, I'll return when she's not around.

The Nohea Gallery is home to a large selection of unique art from many different local artisans. In general, there are pictures, general home decor and knick-knacks, and jewelry, along with a few toys. Most things are on the pricy side, but they really are unique. The staff is warm and friendly; also, they are willing to work with the artists -- and the artists are willing to work with them -- to tweak things available in the store (primarily for size, but design on some things as well).

This is a wonderful gallery. I was drawn to it for its wonderful art, including one of my favorite artist's Brenda Cablayan. I discovered another wonderful artist, Judd Boloker. And as wonderful as the products is the staff. one staff member is more pleasant/as pleasant and helpful as the next. I look forward to returning.

FIVE STARS for Nohea Gallery! It was a Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. and I thought I'd give Nohea Gallery a call to see if they had a Men's pendant from the Sonny Ching line of jewelry. I initially spoke to Karen on the phone to see if the store had what I was looking for it in stock. I eventually decided to go into the store myself to see what they had available.

When I walked into the store, Karen greeted me by name and was very friendly. She didn't have what I was looking for, but he showed me several options of what was available. Not only did she open the display case for me to see, but she also pulled out several items (15+) from the back stock, so that I could see all options that were in the Sonny Ching line of jewelry.

I was very determined to get what I was looking for, so I decided to wait on the other purchases. Nohea Gallery has top quality and fine items from local artisans on the island. They carry things from paintings, jewelry, drink coasters, wood bowls, Koa itesm such as pens / boxes / jewelry, and they also have very nice pieces of home decoration items.

Go check out the Sonny Ching collection of jewelry. All of the pieces are tribal print items that are based on the Kapa prints. Each pattern tells a story about a life experience or a legend. For the men's line, he has silver pendants, cufflinks, leather & silver bracelets, etc. For the women, he has pendants, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, etc.

Super nice. I didn't find what I was looking for, but you can be sure that I'll be back in the store in about 1-2 months to get what I was looking for. I also want to purchase several of the other items that I saw. Thanks, Karen for your excellent customer service! I appreciate you taking the time to help me find what I was looking for! Mahalos! Product Grade: A+ Service Grade: A+ Worth the Money Grade: A- Overall Impression Grade: A

I have always enjoyed this store when I lived on island. On a recent visit to O'ahu I stopped by. I found the gift I was looking for for a good price ( compared to other shops in Waikiki haleiwa and kailua). I asked for some assistance in searching for a petroglyphs wall hanging that I was looking for. I had been collecting his artwork for several years.

Despite the others in store by another artist they assisted me in finding this particular artist and the specific petroglyph I was looking for. That same day they had found what I was looking for. The next day Yvonne? Called me to say that the artwork had been delivered. I have to say that they have some exemplary Customer service! Some Waikiki shopkeepers take note. Mahalo to the ladies at the Nohea Gallery!

I visited the store in search of a gift. I was not disappointed. There are so many treasures to be found that it's hard to choose. They had lots of local artistry. The customer service was also great. Everyone was super friendly and easy to approach with questions. They made shopping there not only easy, but also a pleasure. I will surely return to Nohea in the future!

I found the service very gracious. I didn't feel pressured at all. I was welcomed and provided with answers to all my questions. The staff seemed knowledgeable without getting too pushy. I could have spent all day in the gallery. So many beautiful and unique items! I will definitely come back. There was one item that they didn't carry and the salesperson actually referred me to the right place to find it.

I visited Nohea Gallery this morning. The worker doesn't even acknowledge me. I guess it's better than her following me around like a tail. This is my second visit within a week. There is something that I want to get but I guess I'll get somewhere else.
