Slipcovers are designed to fit over upholstered furniture such as sofas, loveseats, parson's chairs, arm chairs, and more. You can literally "slip" them onto a piece of furniture -- whether you want to cover up the old upholstery without having to reupholster or want to change the look of the item from season to season. They are usually elasticized to hold themselves in place. Fitted slipcovers (sometimes called "custom-fitted" or "made-to-measure") are cut to measurements provided by the customer to the workroom.
Services
HI! My name is Russell Bywaters and I'm glad you've stopped by our website. My workroom serves the greater Atlanta area. I started working in the slipcovering trade at Hall's Slipcover Company in the Washington, D.C. suburb of Hyattsville, Maryland in 1969, and though I've seen a few changes in the styles and popularity of slipcovering, one thing hasn't changed and that is the design versatility and practicality of a well made slipcover. For those of you who may not be familiar with this method of covering furniture, a slipcover is like clothing, except it's made for furniture.
Since custom tailored slipcovers are fitted on the specific piece of furniture they are to cover, I need physical access to the furniture. The process is pretty simple. Once you have your fabric in your home, I'll make an appointment to come out and fit the slipcovers on your furniture. I bring the pinned fabric back to the shop for sewing and when the new slipcovers are ready I'll bring them out and put them on. This means that I don't need to take your furniture out of your home and that this particular service is limited to the Greater Atlanta area.
