I hate to leave a bad review but I feel this is worth mentioning. Mind you, I've shopped and purchased from this store in the past spending thousands of dollars and had great service. Update to today where I'm in the market for new furniture and decided to stop in. Although I was greeted right away, it felt reluctant. I told the gentleman what I was looking for and actually found something I liked but was unsure of the size.

He proceeded to tell me they were a high end store yada yada yada that I felt he was insinuating I couldn't afford it. I told him I had shopped here before and that the owner is a long time friend of my sister and that I love the store. I'm only assuming that because I wasn't dressed to the nines and dripping in jewels that he felt I was shopping in the wrong store.

This is how he came across to me. He did proceed to tell me that they offer to come to your house to help with design. Because my space is challenging, I decided to take him up on his offer anyway. I emailed him with that request. Crickets. I have since shopped elsewhere where I was treated with respect and spent $$$. I'm sure not all of their designers are this way but this gentleman will keep me from shopping here. So dress to the nines, wear your best jewelry, drive up in your Bentley and you just might get the service and the respect you deserve!

I had a great experience with Jawana! She attentively listened to my needs and desires and implemented a design that I was pleased with. She arrived at my home on time and we practiced social distancing. She remained in contact with me to inform me of her progress. She also allowed me to freely discuss my opinions regarding the design she provided for me. I would recommend her and use her services again.

***UPDATE*** I received a call from either the manager or the owner saying that they apologized for what happened. They explained that they were given wrong measurements for the elevator (not true) and that their delivery team never said anything about it not fitting in the hallways. (also not true) It was a combative insincere apology. I never hinted it was a "scam" but much more likely their incompetence that cost us $400.

He then went on to say that I was at fault for spending the $400 and that I could have just returned the sectional. Why would I return something that we really liked and wanted and that ACTUALLY FIT? Yes it's about the $400 that we never needed to spend that we did because we we're lied to by one of the representatives of your company. It's the principal.

The insincere apology was insulting. ****ORIGINAL MESSAGE**** We used John-William Interiors about 2 years ago to purchase a Bracci Living Sectional that we fell in love with at the store for our new condo at the Spring Condominium in downtown Austin. The delivery of our sectional took about a month or so, which we were totally fine with as we understood that furniture takes time for shipping and delivery especially with higher end products.

When it came time for delivery, the delivery guys were very quick to tell us that a portion of the sectional wouldn't make it through the hallway and they even pulled out their measuring tape to try and prove it. As we aren't movers, we took their word for it and only half of the sectional was delivered. We ended up having to hire a Specialty Delivery company which we paid over $400 to have them lift it with a pully system over a wall from the pool deck/parking garage on the level below to avoid using the hallways.

We finally had our full sectional and we're ecstatic at how amazing it was. Comfortable, fine Italian leather, fit the space perfectly, what more could we ask for. Here is where the problem was; Fast forward to last week. We were now moving out of the building as we sold our condo. We hired a great local moving company who had 2 guys, I'd say they were in their early 20's.

They took the sectional, right through the hallways, the same ones that John-William Interiors said they couldn't deliver it through, and right into the elevator and right through the lobby hallway and right into their truck. No problem whatsoever. I mean, it literally took them less than 5 minutes to get it out of our unit, through the hallways, into the elevator, through the lobby hallway and right into the truck.

We were not only lied to by John-William Interiors, we were out $400 for no reason at all. They never made the attempt to fully deliver the sectional, I asked them to try and they said it wouldn't fit so they weren't going to try and they even made me go to the warehouse to pick it up since they said they couldn't leave it with me. We paid well over $7,000 for this sectional with delivery and they didn't credit us a thing.

They lied to us and made us pay another company knowing exactly what we were paying the Specialty company to do by hauling it over a wall from a level below our patio. What a disgusting, unethical company to do something like this. Maybe they ordered a sectional larger than we wanted? Maybe they ordered the wrong sectional and were too worried to be honest with us?

Who knows? But to have your IN-HOUSE DELIVERY TEAM tell us it wouldn't fit and then knowingly let us hire a specialty mover to deliver it over a wall and have us WASTE $400 for no reason, is inexcusable. Stay as far away from these unethical people. How horrible of a business owner do you have to be to allow for this to go on. Looking back at it, it was pretty obvious that they knew it would fit since when I went back to return their moving blankets, (because we are good people even though they said it was unnecessary to bring them back) the sales person we dealt with said something along the lines of "You really had to get that in there." and I commented to my wife right afterwards that he almost sounded upset when he said it.

I will be posting this review everywhere I can and I promise to tell this story to everyone that I know. Again, stay very very far away from this place. They lie and cost us money for whatever reasons they had instead of doing the right thing and making the delivery. I guess they thought that we would be there long enough and move it out the same way we brought it in. 2 young men used almost no effort to get it out after you wouldn't even allow your crew to try even with us pleading for you to do so. Disgusting! P.S. - We have the movers who moved it out if anyone from John-William Interiors doesn't believe the story and they will confirm that it went out with no issues whatsoever. If you want to do the right thing, reimburse us. Otherwise, you will be known as unethical forever.

We used these folks years ago to help us with furniture and drapery for our home. At that time they had a designer (Michael Brown) who did an outstanding job. He even had custom bedding done for us. Because of that experience we decided to go back and seek help again for updating our home. What a change!. Trying to get help was like pulling teeth.

We ended up with some guy who kept talking about his experience as a buyer prior to moving into sales and design. He is better suited not dealing with the public as in my opinion is a jerk! We told him our desire to replicate the service we had prior with his company. He ended up handing us a bunch of photo copies and said just make a choice and he would get us the best prices.

At that point we where not looking for best prices what we where looking for was someone to help us pick what would be best in our home. Needless to say we will not be back as there are too many companies in the Austin area than to deal with this nonsense.

Worked with Terry Davey. She's very good at design. She's got taste and enthusiasm. She helped us pick out a piece of art for above the couch. We really love it. I know where I'll be shopping for my next household furniture / furnishing needs. Great store!

I have an American leather item we purchased from another retailer in Dallas. We needed to work with a local retailer to get it shipped back and repaired. Hector with the warehouse team was perfect. I've never had this level of service and attention AND ACCURACY anywhere. I would not hesitate to buy from jwi. If they were this awesome with me and I didn't buy anything, i can't imagine the service for purchases!

Terry was awesome to work with! Helped me design my custom sleeper couch and followed up with me afterwards to make sure it was everything I wanted. Great customer service and will definitely do business with them again.

Just called to leave a simple message for an employee who works there, and the receptionist who answered the phone was so rude! She was not polite at all and had an attitude. She even sighed when I asked her to leave the message on the desk. You could definitely tell she hated her job. My advice to this company.don't hire people who are unpleasant on the phone!

Quality and Customer Service Fail! I found two velvet chairs I loved in the store but one had a cracked leg that was beginning to wobble. They told me I could order them instead, but the sale price wouldn't apply. They actually were trying to get me to buy a cracked chair! They relented a few days later and let me order two new ones for the sale price.

This was in October. The two new chairs came in December and one of them had a cracked leg! We canceled the order completely and went to Loft instead. But it took me until February to get my money back from October. Total quality and customer service fail.

I went in shopping for furniture and there were a few designers there standing around and neither greeted me. So, I basically shopped on my own. When someone finally approached me, I was treated with little respect. At one point I asked for help in where an item was and the two designers were so busy talking that they apparently did not want to take the time to help. So, he pointed his finger to where the item was. Poor customer service.don't recommend.
