In those early days, they ran what was then Powder Sales with one other employee, specializing in surplus merchandise, logging supplies, foam, paint, and dynamite. Powder Sales was renamed Hardware Sales when we stopped carrying dynamite. In the early 1970's we moved to our present retail location. Over the years we have expanded across several blocks in Bellingham and opened distribution centers in Ferndale, Washington, and Greenwood, Indiana, for sales generated on the internet, employing over 140 people between the three locations.

Purchase seeds now for best selection and availability and make sure you have everything needed to start seeds. Start tomato, pepper, and eggplant seeds indoors toward end of month. Put lime and moss killer on lawns mid-month in preparation for seeding/over-seeding in April. Some seeds such as lettuce, spinach, kale, and peas can be planted in a cold frame or garden beds with protection from frosts.

5 stars for the staff at the rental office. Mr. Andy Garcia greeted us warmly and right away showed us what we would need for the job, very nicely and patiently explained what the equipment could do and how to operate it. We left happily and got the job done within a couple of hours. But we did have to call for further instructions half way through and the young man on the (I forgot to ask for his name) was so sweet and patient to help us so we were able to finish without any frustration. Mr. Buzz Tieman helped us with check-out on returning.
He was just as sweet as Mr. Garcia ( I got both their names on the invoice) who came over to ask us if everything worked out ok. Although we were physically exhausted with hard work, we felt very high-spirit all because the staff's friendliness, sincere help, and professionalism. Thank you, Gentlemen.

A friend recommended me this store. She told me they have everything you can imagine/need. What I didn't expect, aside from finding everything I needed, was just how great the service would be. Until that day I had not realized just how much I've missed having real honest to goodness "service". Nowadays you go into a store and the staff point you in the direction of what you ask for and leave you there.
They don't care if you find it or not, or if it's even the right thing. Not here. This will be my go-to hardware store from now on. Thank you for having what we need and helping us find it!

Three things are true about Hardware Sales every time I visit: 1) I can never find what I'm looking for on my own. 2) But they do always have exactly what I need 3) And a sales associate will always be able to find it for me. It may be a confusing maze (and I kind of love that. it's seriously fun to just wander if you're not in a hurry) but the inventory and customer service here is on a scale you just don't see elsewhere.

This is the go-to place for biz needs. They have an extensive inventory for all sorts of things you might need to run your biz: landscaping equipment, rentals (everything from ladders to heavy machinery), pressure washing, nuts and bolts and all the small misc pieces that keep your machinery running smoothly, absolutely anything you might / will need is here. They have excellent, knowledgeable customer service staff as well.
