Went here this morning to buy a $1,900 custom-ordered office chair for my wife as a birthday present since she works from home. The woman helping us made a very offensive "joke" as I was paying, making fun of the fact that my birthday gift to my wife somehow wasn't hip enough or was too boring as a birthday gift. She made me feel very awkward and ashamed that somehow a nearly $2,000 custom chair wasn't good enough for a birthday present for my wife. I'd like to think she was just trying to joke around, but I left feeling embarrassed. Not a pleasant experience.

I ordered a Herman Miller Sayl chair from them last month. Chair was shipped directly from Herman miller and I had some issues with the shipping. However, the staff at grounded were super helpful and made sure I got the chair. I would recommend them to anyone looking to buy furniture. Great and helpful staff.

I ordered a Herman Miller chair online through Grounded. There was a mistake with my billing/shipping address but luckily the FedEx warehouse near me was able to sort it out. The customer service was fantastic from Juli who clearly went out of her way to help me deal with the shipping issue. I have never been to the store so I can't speak on that, but from my interactions with Juli I cannot recommend them enough.

I started with an online transaction with Grounded, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the customized chair I ordered for my wife's birthday was substantially delayed in production. Over the phone Juli offered an alternate chair that was in inventory at the store. I arrived at the store and realized the terrific online presence Grounded has is surpassed by the Grounded bricks and mortar store. Grounded has a very interesting selection of furnishings. My wife and I are looking forward to shopping for funishings at Grounded in the future.

Can't say enough about the store. My wife loves their furnishings, and has bought a large stock of Chilewich mats and placemats there. Today, while buying some new doormats, she tried on a few rings st the counter, taking off her diamond ring in the process. She left with her mats (but not her ring), realizing several hours later it was missing.
She forgot having taken the ring off, and thought she had lost it elsewhere. After about 5 hours of increasingly frantic searching, without results, we got a call from Grounded, who picked up her name from the credit card receipt and tracked her down via the web to find a phone number to call. What diligence and customer service! They have earned our support for life. Can't thank them enough!

This is such a great store! We had been looking for a modern entertainment piece from BDI and found exactly what we were looking for at a very competitive price. Super helpful staff and the owner took a lot of time helping us with measurements. We always try and support local businesses and Grounded deserves 5 stars!

My husband and I walked into an empty store and despite seeing two employees, no one acknowledged us. We browsed the entire store and while there were some nice items we considered purchasing, we reconsidered given their lack of customer service. As we were leaving, a white couple showed up, and we could hear the staff welcome them immediately and loudly.
I am a person of color so perhaps that played a role in their lack of acknowledgement. This has happened to me a number of times in the past so I am very aware of this type of treatment in retail situations.

Awesome interior and home goods store selling home products- from big to small! Some of the highlights I saw: - S'well bottles- impressive selection! - rifle paper co. products, including cards, paper, etc. - Great collection of candles and incense - Bigger things like pillows, rugs, couches, office chairs, desks. - bullet journals - jewelry My mom bought some gifts and the service was good. They offered to wrap her items in tissue and gave her the choice of colors. The prices were definitely high here but the quality of the products seemed great!

We have purchased many items from Juli at Grounded because it's our favorite furniture store in all of San Diego. I'd like to live in this place. Juli has such great taste and has curated a wonderful selection of mid-century modern and modern/contemporary furniture and decor. Grounded carries almost all of the major names and classic pieces (Eames, etc.).
Their inventory is constantly revolving, and if they don't have something in store, Juli can tell you about it. She is knowledgeable and honest with her reviews (e.g., for example, she has told us not to purchase certain items because she doesn't find them to be very comfortable). Juli is also good at telling you when sales are coming up so you can save $ if time is not of the essence.

Bottom Line: Fun home decor, interesting gifts and great inspiration. I am not a fan of modern decor but I still love this store! Even if you aren't hunting for ultra ultra mod furniture you can definitely find some neat accent pieces here. They have high quality items that are ready to take home like placemats and barware. Plus, this is a great spot for gits.
They have some really cool stationary and I was definitely wanting to buy some new lotion and body cremes as a gift (uhh, for myself). Also, I was totally lusting after a Hobo bag that had super supple leather and really fun rich colors. I think its definitely worth popping in here even if modern decor makes you a little squeamish.

Customer service? What customer service. No hello, no how are you. Just blank stares. The vibe of the store is very cold and unwelcoming. It's a shame since its packed with so many beautiful things. I purchased what I needed and ran as fast and far as I could. Luckily, I have found Pigment in North Park. It's a drive, but it's totally worth it. Bottom line, go where business true value and appreciate you!

I love modern decor. But I don't love this store! The Lady who works there is totally rude! There is a lot of furniture on display in the store as is usual for furniture stores. My 13 yr old daughter who was with me, sat down in a office chair & the lady told not to sit in it because people have to buy the chair. Seriously! What should a person do? Just look at their furniture. But not sit in it! I will NEVER go back to this store! I will never give them my service! On star is tooo high for this review!

Beautiful store. They have many eclectic and truly inspiring pieces of modernly artistic furniture. But the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They didn't acknowledge me whatsoever, no one asked me if I needed help and when I looked at them and smiled they simply looked away. I even walked up to an associate who saw me and perceded to walk into the back of the store. Maybe my leather jacket and red lipstick offended them. Sorry ladies. I'll search for the things I saw at your store elsewhere.
