I went to this shop despite reading that they are overpriced and unfriendly. Yes - they are extremely overpriced, but during the pandemic I have made an effort to support local shops. During the checkout process the card reader malfunctioned. It was actually his condescending attitude toward me in front of other customers that got to me. Telling me I removed the card too early, then that I am not swiping the card correctly despite following the directions etc.
The cherry on the cake was when he said "look I am trying to help you here" as though he was talking to someone who is not too bright. I have traveled the world and have not come across such rude and condescending manner from a shop assistant. When I stated that I no longer want the items and that I feel uncomfortable with the way he is talking with me, the older shop assistant (maybe owner?) looked like she was ready to defend his rude attitude. I was not having that. I simply stated that he should not be allowed to talk to customers the way he did and I left. Save your money and spend it elsewhere.

I bought a few items at this Roche Harbor store. 2 kitchen sponges, 1 small bowl, 1 box of 2 candles that came to $85. I literally thought my math skills were totally sucking. When I checked my receipt, I was charged for 2 candles in a box @ $24.99 each candle. What kind of store does this? Why not just charge $50 for these candles instead of $24.99 each?

I love this store. I visit every time I am in Roche. Not only are there fun and unique things to see and purchase, but the associates manning the store are cheerful and helpful. I will be back to Roche tomorrow bringing some guests up. You can be sure that, sometime in the next 3 days, I'll wander into Dominique's again!

Dominque's House is located in the heart of Roche Harbor. Located in an old building whose original purpose is not easily deciphered it can easily become crowded due to the small space and off shape of the space. It reminds me cross between an antique store and Crate and Barrel. You can find a variety of home decor items from decorative glass to pillows, you can find a few different types of alcohol all tastefully displayed, there are small furniture items that you can buy, and many items with a beach and sea theme.
Parking is a distance away, but I am sure if you bought something of significant size you could park long enough to load the item. The staff here is rather warm and courteous offering to help as needed.
