I purchased a leather sofa about a year ago. my first experience with This establishment was not impressI've. I couldn't get a person to help me, although many stood around chit chatting. Why, I walked back in to look at this sofa again still amazes me. Tom Rafool assisted me and truly was professional and amazing to work with. Unfortunatel, within the first year, the mechanism that operates the recliner has failed.

It has been 7 or 8 months trying to get this resolved. Twice, they have ordered the wrong part even though the repairman had taken a photo of the part. Tom has been able to get some things done, but he is one person who can't seem to get others to do their job correctly. I even went as far as to contactNick Williams who was supposed to be "the man." Appears he isn't. Tom has continued to direct me to the person who can help, but no one u derstands quality and SERVICE bring customers back.

I would give zero stars if possible. We ordered furniture - took 9 months to arrive. We knew immediately that the recliners were different than the floor model. The floor model chairs were super comfortable. These were short (uncomfortable to sit in) and hard- overstuffed and seemed like they were filled with helium. We contacted the store immediately.

We were told to keep them for a couple months to see if they softened up and if not, we could return them. They didn't soften up after several months so we contacted the store for a return. After many phone conversations, visits by the manufacturer rep, we were told there was nothing wrong with the chairs and J. Kirk would not honor their agreement with us.

After much discussion, the manager agreed to take the chairs back and give us a credit. This won't work as we would not bother ever shopping there again. We are so disgusted with our salesman, Joe, and with the manager. We really got taken and learned a very expensive lesson

I would give a zero star rating if I could. We ordered expensive recliner chairs from Kirk. Our Salesman, Joe, asssured us if there was a manufacturer's problem the chairs could be returned. We knew immediately upon taking ownership that the chairs were not the same as the ones we tried out in the store. They were shorter (makes for uncomfortable sitting) and it was as if they were stuffed with helium.

We wanted to return them right away. Joe convinced us to keep them and if they weren't right in 3 months we could return. Three months later after numerous phone calls and store visits, Joe basically said there was nothing wrong with the chairs and we had to keep them. Further discussions with Joe, the manufacturer's rep, and the owner got nowhere.

We are stuck with the chairs. If we return them we only get store credit. At this point we would never shop at Kirk furniture ever again. What a major disappointment. Joe insists over time the chairs will "soften" up. This is not happening. A very expensive mistake.

Great selection of top brands. Ask for Rick Johnson. Rick is knowledgeable and friendly and worked with me to get the best deal. I highly recommend John Kirk Furniture over other area stores; especially the one on Allisonville Road.

We love shopping here! Tons of beautiful furniture! Everyone is friendly and pleasant! John Kirk has amazing timeless and elegant pieces that others do not carry! Tom has helped us so much with furnishing our house to make it a HOME. We will always shop here before other furniture stores!

Couldn't buy and take home same day, didn't want to wait 2-3weeks for furniture. 4/5 stars but respectful service

I cannot say enough about the service I received from Kristi, who is an amazing designer at John Kirk. We have lived in Indianapolis for 28 years and had never purchased anything from John Kirk Furniture before. I was so impressed with their selection and the high quality of the furniture offered. I did not have an appointment with Kristi, but asked, "Do you work here?" and even though she had tight deadlines to meet, she took a lot of time with me to coordinate colors and to tie in a sunroom for me, that we use as a second family room. Kristi had GREAT IDEAS as to how to update our look.

We purchased a Sherrill sofa and "built" it in a custom order. I spoke with a man we use for upholstery and he gave Sherrill furniture high marks. I would definitely go to John Kirk again and without question, I would work with Kristi! She is AMAZING!

And the saga continues. Picked up the "mis-ordered" and restocking fee paid dining room wrapped chairs (2) with an appointment time. 1) Arrived on time and my elderly Mother-in-law was asked to wait and walk around until THEY were ready 2) Had the two wrapped chairs loaded in our truck and took home. Once unwrapped the chairs we discovered the chairs were the previous incorrect ordered chairs. 3) John Kirk Furniture had a delivery truck deliver the right chairs to my mother-in-law who was at the store to pick UP the chairs 4) Arrangement were made for the next day for delivery of correct chairs and pick up of incorrect chairs 5) John Kirk Furniture called my Mother-in-law and advised that she never paid the re-stocking fee. Well that was interesting - since we manage her online bank account - we found the check that was processed by John Kirk Furniture. Not a good experience at all for anyone

Horrible customer service. Elder (87) Mother In-law was definitely taken advantage of when ordering two simple chairs that matched a set she already had. Finger pointing in who ordered wrong chairs. Company would take back but at a restocking fee of $480. Two dinning room chairs over $1600. So sad and so hurtful they did this to her when she is on her own with a fixed income. Shame on them.

We purchased a beautiful sleeper sofa about a year ago from John Kirk Furniture. We were looking for end tables and they had a wonderful selection. Nick and the staff are extremely professional and helpful.

I found this furniture store back in 2015 and have had a great experience and wonderful service ever since, thanks to Tom Rafool. This store has quality furnishings, but Tom keeps us coming back. He is always super helpful and patient with us. He is never pushy and continues to help us decide on furniture and accessories that work for my home and office. Tom, thank you for putting in extra time and the extra mile, to help me make my home and office more comfortable and beautiful. Highly recommended.

On May 25th, we paid in full for two new power leather recliners with adjustable headrests. On June 18th, the recliners were delivered to us but one of them was extensively damaged. The damaged chair had so many problems that it shouldn't have been brought to our house. But the delivery guys just took a few pictures and pressed me to sign for both chairs anyway.

I watched part of the damage occur when these two guys unloaded the chair off of the truck. They didn't use a lift and struggled with the heavy chairs (each one has two electric motors). Over the next month, I sent many emails including many pictures to the store's representative. She said a repairman could come to our home or we could meet a manufacturer representative.

On July 18, we wasted our time going to the store warehouse to meet with a manufacturer rep. Before we arrived he had agreed to replace the chair based on the pics (so why were we there)? We waited patiently for over seven weeks before inquiring about the status of the replacement. On Sept 9th, the store representative admitted that it had been sitting in their local warehouse.

But neither she nor anyone else had contacted us to arrange for it to be delivered to our house. On Sept 11 the rep said we could inspect the chair at the warehouse before it was delivered to us. By email I asked her "What time range is possible?" and she replied back to me "Anytime is fine". But when I texted while on our way at 3:42 PM she replied 'Fine, but the warehouse closes at 4:00'.

During the inspection we pointed out that two of the wooden bun feet on the chair were damaged. The floor protectors were broken off (on bottoms) and the varnished finish was damaged (on sides). The rep agreed to switch these two feet with two undamaged feet from a floor model chair they had. She said that they could order new feet for the floor model before selling it to someone else later on.

On Sept 17th, the new chair was delivered to us (it was wrapped up in protective materials). I recognized one of the guys from the warehouse so I asked him if the feet had been changed. He said 'Yes' so I took his word for it and didn't unwrap and inspect the feet until a later date. That's when I saw an attempt made to repair the feet (instead of switching them as agreed).

The agreed upon feet had larger floor protectors that screwed into them on the bottoms. And the varnished finish on the sides of those feet didn't have significant damage to them. But the feet we got have small protectors tacked on next to broken off screws from the originals. The smaller ones like what should be used on a lightweight table leg (not on a very heavy chair).

To make the chair set level someone unscrewed original large protectors on the undamaged legs. And replaced them by tacking on smaller protectors to the side of the screw hole for the original. The varnished sides of the feet are also damaged (moving on a rough surface without protectors). I emailed the rep some pics of one of the legs to show her an example of the damage/repair.

The varnished finish was not just damaged near floor level (but also up higher on the sides). I asked for her to order four new feet because even the undamaged ones had been altered. The rep ignored my request so I filed a BBB complaint (no customer should have to do this). Their response made false statements, denied there's a problem, and didn't offer a solution.

But I wouldn't have had any reason to make a complaint if there wasn't a remaining problem. About five months ago, we paid in full for two recliners delivered in brand new condition. This should've been a positive experience (but it was an extremely negative one instead). A great deal of our time has been wasted and all the unexpected delays are inexcusable.

We paid for two new matching chairs and that's what we should we should end up with. We shouldn't be expected to settle for parts that are damaged or inadequately repaired. We definitely wouldn't buy from this store again and don't recommend them to others.

We found this place about a year ago and were greeted by Thomas and had a great experience. We are now looking for more furniture and went back and once again were greeted by same salesman, very professional and very enjoyable to work with, and at the end of evening we purchased more. My wife and I both laughed at another salesman was starting to turn off all the lights while we were still picking out furniture! If you go talk to Thomas, he will take care of you, at least he has been great to us!

I recently purchased a dining room table and six chairs from John Kirk furniture in Carmel, IN and had a good experience even though I was bummed about two of my chairs being delayed because they didn't have any in stock but was told they would be by my delivery date. I waited three weeks and called to inquire and my salesperson told me she was getting ready to call me because my two chairs had arrived yesterday (poor follow-up). I'm unsure why I didn't get a call yesterday or first thing this morning but I called and they have arrived.

The first time I called today, I was hung up on by a female salesperson because I asked to speak with a manager and was told there was no manager. I went to ask if there was anyone in charge I could speak with and was interrupted by the female salesperson in a very rude tone, "Ma'am, I will have Anne call you when she's finished" and then I was hung up on.

Of course I called back and of course it was a different person who answered. Ms. Anne and the gentleman I spoke with were very polite and has always been but the other lady who is a salesperson was very rude with me over the phone with her tone, impatience and lack of customer service.

I've dealt with John Kirk furniture for over 30 years and truly have not had 1 problem. They are a family owned business that believes in service, competitive prices and quality. They only issue I've ever had - too many choices. It makes no difference who you work with, they are helpful and knowledgeable. Can't go wrong here.

I purchased furniture from them and when it arrived I tested to see if it was fabric protected, IT WAS NOT! I immediately called them and "reassured me it was". well it wasn't because the drops of water I dropped on it didn't bead up. After going through the Guardian protection people over the phone 2x as well as them coming out to clean such things that shouldn't stain (water, coffee, liquids) and now having to wait again on possible approvals of replacement items.

I have again contacted John Kirk Furniture 3x asking them to re-treat the furniture they claim has been treated. THEY REFUSE TO MAKE THIS SITUATION RIGHT. I am unhappy with the treat of me as a valuable customer and want my money back on the fabric treatment.

I want to love John Kirk, but after multiple negative experiences I just don't. I'll start by saying we own about 5 things in our house that were purchased from their store, but each time I go in I'm less and less impressed with my overall experience. They have an amazing selection of furniture for all price ranges and the fabric options are endless, but that's about it.

The one salesman we used to work with a few years ago has unfortunately retired and the current salespeople leave much to be desired. They aren't always knowledgeable about their products, they don't seem to provide all of the details when ordering custom pieces, there is a huge lack of followup, and their resolution of problems is horrible.

They have such a large warehouse with so many things I wish it was somewhere I could recommend, but after my last extremely negative experience I am done with their business and will purchase my furniture elsewhere.

Okay, first of all don't typically like to slam places, but I'm sorry.there is no excuse for the inept assistance we received at this store! First, was looking for a very specific piece of furniture that Flexsteel makes. Got on a website, found that John Kirk carries them, but just to be sure since we were around 20 miles away, called the store to ensure they had them there.

The gentleman that answered quite emphatically told me that yes they do have those in their store. Drove the 20 miles, arrived and some people's very friendly woman at the counter to my husband and I was a very whiny arrogant woman at the front desk. I informed her I was looking for a lift chair and she proceeds to tell me all the square footage and different manufacturers and I said Flexsteel, she pointed us in the direction and my husband and I were off looking.

About 20 minutes of wandering around and going past at least 4 empty offices a kind woman came up and asked what we wanted. I told her a Flexsteel lift chair and she said, I don't think we have any and I said surely you must I called and she said 'Oh, I wish they would stop doing that!' She called the warehouse. NONE! She apologized but that didn't help the hour wasted! I suggest you get over how big and how many manufacturers you have, and do more to help the consumers that are purchasing those products!

According to the pleasant woman who greeted us at the door, this furniture store is as big as a football field! So that gives you an idea how much furniture is here. Yeah, there's a lot. It's a little on the pricey side -- even the sale prices (think $4,000 for a sofa, marked down from $8,000), but it looks well-made and the wooden pieces look to be made from real wood, so you get what you pay for.

I really appreciated that they leave you alone to explore the store at your own pace. There's nothing an introvert dislikes more than some salesman or -woman hanging around like a pest. The woman who greeted me let me know she was available if we had questions, then left us alone. That's how it's done! Another thing: What you see on the showroom floor is what you get. They don't have a warehouse where they store more furniture. You can customize fabric for your upholstery, though.

This is a fabulous furniture store with an extensive selection in house. You can find everything from all ranges of furniture, lamps, bars and game room tables, pinball machines, pool tables, and neon bar lighting, custom order furniture, flooring, area rugs and art work with numerous home decor items. The service was excellent, thank you Tony, and he was available for questions but allowed me to shop entire store without hovering. Wear comfortable walking shoes.store is extremely large.

Got dragged in here by wife on search for something.service was excellent, not like most furniture stores that hover around like a hawk. And for the guys, it has an awesome game room section you can hang out with your kids or on your own while your other half shops till her feet hurt. Great selection of basement/game room items including accessories for pool tables and such you wouldn't expect when walking in.
