Nelson's Furniture The Nelson's Family has been in business in Wilmington for over 50 years. We started small, but with customer demand, we have become one of the largest family owned furniture stores in the state. Even though we keep growing, we have kept our small town feel. Most of our employees have been here for many years and it shows. Our sales people alone have over 150 years of experience selling furniture, right here at Nelson's Furniture.

I have been stewing for 24 hours. To many children. So many left crying. No eggs at all or the big children pushed. The little ones even had been pushed to they lost their eggs and they were picked up by others. I was impressed by one parent that told their child to share an egg. Maybe they need to rethink the age groups. Ps I love there furniture store.

Purchased new mattress and recliner on Feb. 19,2022, to be delivered. Ad said free delivery and removal of old items. Ended up having to pay $75.00 for delivery. When delivery truck arrived on Monday 21,2022, I was informed that they would not take old mattress. Saying OSHA regulations prohibit taking of stained mattresses. I ask deliveryman if he saw any stains, he said no.

Then was told that he couldn't take mattress because it wasn't noted on the delivery ticket that it was supposed to be removed. Told them I would not take delivery if they were not taking old mattress. I called Nelson's to cancel my order since they would not remove. Person on phone said she would talk to boss and then delivery people. Delivery people came back to door and stated they would take mattress. Then they brought mattress in and tracked mud around house-no shoe coverings. Overall happy with merchandise, but not with delivery/cost of delivery.

Very Friendly and informative. They let me know what was on the floor and how everything works. Did not hover over me while I looked around. Great experience. Connie was great as well!

Very community oriented furniture store, worth the drive or in my case a good walk to check them out here. Very fair selection of mattresses. Worth giving my business to!

Waiting for furniture now 2 months & find out I have an additional 3 months to wait. I keep calling for updates and the original delivery date was pushed from 3/28 to 5/17 and I was recently told 7/15. It is Ashley Furniture and Ashley says this model is a 6-8 week delivery. I am starting to wonder if Nelson's has even placed the order. I try to give my business to smaller retailers but this is a perfect example why people prefer to shop with large chains.

Went in there to shop for reclining chair, staff greeted us and then let us look through their selection. There wasn't much to get excited about. We left, nobody said goodbye or anything. Guess they're used to it. Place kinda seems to have gone downhill since our last visit. Ended up getting a chair at Bobs Furniture.

Very good selection of quality pieces. We had a problem with furniture purchased last December. $4000 worth. Ended up defective. Nelsons stood behind warranty to the extent of replacing all 3 pieces with full credit to pick something else out. Great service and highly recommended!

Friendly staff, great communication. I've purchased a kitchen set in the past and now also a sectional. I will always consider Nelson's first when purchasing any other furniture. Even with the current delays it seems everyone is having, my couch still came in when they said it would and I received updates both by phone and mail. We love our new couch and our dog approves!

It saddens me to write such a negative experience since I was so hopeful about the furniture I purchased. My intention is to not discourage anyone from shopping here but to forewarn what you most likely will experience. I ordered a sectional and a chair was told 6-8 weeks maybe 10. So as I approached my 12th week with no couch I needed some answers.

Each person I spoke too had a different answer, they didn't know when the truck was coming, and basically blamed the truck driver. See they had no problem speaking ill of a truck driver but were elated when a truck driver spent almost 3,000 on furniture. When I got attitude, the run around, lie after lie I took matters into my own hands. I called the manufacturer, southern motion, and all I found were more discrepancies in the employees at Nelson's story.

I'd rather someone say "I don't know" than to insult and flat out lie to me. I told them, I was going to return my items within minutes I received a call to set up delivery when I already knew my items were most likely not coming. I was also offered $50 off of my already free delivery (not sure how that works). I love supporting small businesses, I love spending money in the small town I live in, but this time it bit me in the butt.

I went to another store and will have my bigger, power reclining couch in my home In 3 days, and it was cheaper than my small, manual recliner I bought at Nelson's. Maybe an "I'm sorry" or a little honesty would have gone a long way. I do appreciate my full refund though.

Bought Ashley leather furniture set a year and half ago leather peeling off. Paid a lot of money very disappointed. not backing up the quality of the furniture. I had a previous leather set for 20 years and it never wore off like this set. I'm sure its not going to be very long that it will only get worse. Called Ashley furniture and the said if we had purchased from an Ashley store they would replace it. too bad I didn't purchase straight from the source. lesson learned. 6 weeks prior to that I had ordered a different couch upholstery fabric when it came in I was told that frame was cracked upon delivery. that's when we went in and purchased the leather set. they had to replace the recliner it was busted and leaning sideways. I'm am so disappointed to say the least. I have bought furniture there in the past with no problems,

Do not buy from this store. I purchased a good amount of furniture from them and have had nothing but issue. First they brought the wrong pieces of furniture which we then had to wait weeks for the correct furniture to be brought. Then we had an issue with an ottoman that we bought from them after 4 month of typical use and they said it was due to customer misuse.

I had to fight to get a %50 credit to buy more furniture from them. The lady I was working with Barb was extremely rude and began yelling at me when I wanted to discuss the issue further.

I bought a wooden twin bunk bed from them about 8 years ago. The slats have loosened and broken more than twice after just 3-4 years of use. The frame has broken at least twice since. Had to contact the manufacturer directly for replacement pieces. I have also purchased a sofa from them and the wooden frame inside has broken as well. Their customer service is okay. Not sure if I trust the quality of their furniture anymore.

I have always bought my furniture from them with no problems in the past until now I purchased a sectional from there 1 year ago and after three months all the stiching was coming apart so the repaired it three times in three months just for the fabric and then the recliner broke after 4 months is the repaired it twice and I Called and talked to the so called manager who was awful to deal with she did not care what I had to say I told her I wanted my furniture replaced and she would not do that she told me I needed to contact my waranty co and have them fix it, Now I have crappy furniture that I paid 3000.00 dollars for that has soft and had cushions on it that they messed up and the recliner is still broke. So do not buy anything from this store they suck.and they don't care about there customers

I've purchased a few items from Nelson's, the delivery and quality seem above average however the sales people are not very informative, we recently shopped here for a new bed and mattress set, this store lacks where others exceed as far as exchange/return policy when purchasing mattresses. It does not have one so be very careful when shopping here for a mattress and make sure what you want is ordered and want as you are pretty much stuck with it.

I had a great experience from the first call to delivery. I had Barb tell me if they had a certain front room set in the show room. They did! I went in was greeted by Barb and it was easy peezy from there on. I expected to pay a certain price for the set but was pleasantly surprised that price included more thani expected, the end tables and coffee table were included.

I recommend Nelsons. They delivered in the time frame they quoted. And while your there eat at the connected resturant. I don't believe it's affiliated with Nelsons, but a great way to spend the weekend. I

This place is a family-owned company, so you would THINK customer service would be good. I would say it is HORRIBLE, but it would have to exist to be horrible. You have to hound them to get the poor quality furniture they sell repaired and here is the best part. IT NEVER GETS FIXED. I purchased a sectional from them for about $3,000. The sticking failed over 12 months ago, they sent someone out and it is still not fixed. Now the cheap plywood used in the Franklin furniture broke where you sit on it. DO NOT shop here. BURN YOUR $$$$, its more fulfilling than spending it here.

I will never shop there again! I bought a recliner for my elder mother-in-law who has severe stenosis of the spine. I was told i would have the recliner in 2- 3 weeks. So i then decided to go back a few days later and i bought a couch and a love seat, the one they had in stock the other they had to order. So we asked how long Barb, the sale associate, told me well we just ordered some, So it should take a week or two.

Those 3 weeks go by, and still no furniture. So i Call and they have no idea were my furniture is. The next day the call me to tell me i have to wait 3 more weeks. They tell you what you want to hear so you order, then they dont care. So the furniture may be here by the 30th. Then they call and say Merry Christmas and the manager will offer the floor models at full price REALLY? This place is beyond a joke. You spend over 3000.oo and they treat you like this.

This place has the WORST customer service! We purchased a leather sofa and recliner in June, 2012. They delivered it and set it in place in our family room (on our newly installed oak hardwood floor). During Christmas, we re-arranged the furniture and when we moved the recliner, we noticed our new floor was very badly gouged. I tilted the recliner on it's back and noticed that 3 out of the 4 feet had plastic protectors on them.

The 4th did not and the steel frame of the chair was rubbing and gouging our floor! We contacted the store and tried to send pictures - they don't have email. The woman we were dealing with said she would send someone out to touch up the floor. When he arrived, he said it was too damaged for him to do anything. When I called the store back, the woman said there was nothing they could do. So now we will have to pay to have our floor fixed. We will never shop there again!
