We bought our heat and Glo fire place five years ago and it still doesn't work. We've had Ambler technicians to our house multiple times and every time they insist that it is some minor issue that we're having and that they've fixed it. The heat and Glo model is terrible and very difficult to use. My favorite is when the remote freezes and says to call the dealer.
Apparently you're supposed to restart it and override any error messages. It's a nightmare. I also insisted when I bought it that I didn't want a remote and only after it was installed I was told it's the only way to operate. The batteries are always dying which is also fun when you want to snuggle up next to the fire.

While I love my log set, and their repairman does a good job, literally every year I have some sort of issue and it takes them WEEKS to send someone out. I just called today and they can't send someone til MARCH 15 - WINTER WILL BE OVER BY THEN I know that Covid causes delays, but this has been an issue for years, no matter what time of year you call. Almost every winter I lose precious weeks where I can't use my fireplace. PLEASE HIRE MORE TECHNICIANS!

A technician from Ambler came to fix my fireplace in January 2018. The fireplace wouldn't stay lit. While the fireplace worked after the technician left, and operated fine last year, the same issue started again this winter. After multiple phone calls with ambler fireplace, where they first gave me the incorrect information on how to reset my module, the same problem persisted.
Their only advice was to have a technician come back out. I expect my fireplace to work for more than one winter. I bought the 60.00 module on Amazon and I'll install it myself and save $140.00. I'll also never use ambler fireplace again and recommend you don't either. My direct response to Kristen is below Hi Kristen, I find it disheartening that your response places the responsibility and blame on me, the customer.
At no point did you ask to reach out to me directly to hear my side of the story. Instead, you took the word of your staff and immediately sided with them. Again, the expectation is for my fireplace to work, not to bring out a technician to plug in a 60.00 module every 2 years. If Ambler Fireplace was that concerned about the usage of parts from amazon, why didnt one of your techs recommend a place to buy the module?
Their only solution was to schedule another maintenance visit, which could not occur until the end of January. Following this pattern, I would be without a fireplace every other winter. I will be sure to add this to my review, so others can see my response to you.

Not a good experience. The guy working in the shop when I originally went in was not helpful at all and a bit condescending. Against my better judgement, I ordered doors for my fireplace that after further research seem very expensive comparatively. The screen doors have given me problems multiple times. I have had repair folks come out and the problems still remain

I wanted fireplace doors installed on our family room gas fireplace. I had Ambler Fireplace complete a service and take measurements/photos in order to determine which doors would fit. After visiting the shop and making my selection, I was told the doors I picked could not be used. No problem! I received an email with pictures of doors that would work and found one very similar to my original choice.
The installation was scheduled and the process was completed very quickly. The doors look fabulous and the fireplace finally looks "finished". Added bonus: the doors keep the cat out of the fireplace!

My wife and I have a rather strange story. We went into Ambler Fireplace and Patio to purchase a wood burning insert. After talking to the sales team, they kindly indicated that wood was a lot of work and that since both of us are seniors, we might want to at least look at the gas inserts. After thinking it through, we agreed. After that, the whole process was very simple.
Once we selected the insert we wanted, Amble Fireplace Office Staff filled out the permit application for our township, schedule a site inspection and, once the permit was approved, schedule installation. The Installation team came on the schedule day, installed the insert, modified an existing gas line and installed the liner all in one day. The installer walked us through the controls and made sure we understood the things we needed to know.
When the Township Permit Inspector came to review the installation, he was impressed with the quality of the gas line work and the insert trim work. We are very satisfied and have been getting some good use on the cold wither nights. Highly recommend Ambler Fireplace.

We recently took a trip to the Ambler location, knowing we needed a new gas insert for our fireplace. We were greeted by Bob S. My husband and I are both in customer service, so we were surely taken aback by our initial interaction with him. For starters, I asked him "Is Heat n' Glow the only brand you carry?" His response was "i sold 249 of them last year." I said "that wasn't the question." No real response. Then, I chose which front I wanted, it was very plain, called "Firescreen".
I relayed this information to Bob to which he replied "No one goes with the first one they choose". I said "Well, you don't know me, I'm a very definite person and have done my homework." We scheduled a site visit for measurements, I received the quote a few days later and the quote was for "Iron Gate". When I mentioned to him that I specifically told him I DID NOT like that front, he said "that's what you chose".
Not it wasn't. So, needless to say, the $6,000 that we were going to spend went directly into the pocket of a competitor who I might add, did a beautiful, meticulous job installing, in addition to providing all of the services needed for the install. We were going to have to contract out for the electrical had we used Ambler Fireplace. Consumer be warned, if Bob is your contact.
I found him to be nothing resembling helpful, but certainly condescending. Additionally, when we went to the other company's showroom, they had several different brands on display and were beyond informative and helpful. I left there knowing exactly what we needed and with everything we wanted. *Please note, this interaction was about 6 weeks ago, I waited to write my review until I felt I had sufficient time to process it.

Although I still think the people are great at ambler from the sales to the service and install guys, I believe heat n glo gas inserts are absolute junk 2 years and two big problems with this unit. First the blower assembly went bad in less than a year. That was fixed under warranty. This year the pilot went out and the control box is flashing three code and the pilot was so sooted up and is something I cant fix myself.
I estimate a 300 dollar service call to fix something that cost almost 5,000 dollars two years ago is ridiculous. The unit really doesn't add much heat value on top of the reliability issue. I advise stay away from heat n glo equipment

We purchased a wood burning insert for our fireplace. The sales staff at the store was very helpful and easy to work with. Both times that they came out to the house (first for the inspection and then for the install) they arrived right at the appointment time and were professional and courteous. Once the install was complete, the technician went over the operation of the system and was able to answer all of the questions that I had. We are extremely satisfied with the insert unit we selected - the heat output heats the entire house. We would recommend Ambler Fireplace & Patio.

Bought 2 pellet stoves from Ambler and also recommended to a friend who went on to buy one. Overall process was ok. However, I had a very bad taste in my mouth after trying to buy pellets here following my purchases. I tried to buy pellets a couple of times and they were out of stock. fair enough BUT.I assumed they would sell pellets primarily to customers who'd had them install a stove rather than random customers that walk in off the street.
That's terrible customer service. Sell me a $5k stove and then tell me you don't have any pellets because you sold them to random people who hadn't even bought a stove. Going to E&E stoves in Fairless Hills now because they reserve pellets for customers who've bought stoves from them.

My gas fireplace in my new-ish construction house was acting up. Turns out it was not vented outside and I didn't like that at all. So Karl helped me pick out a replacement unit after a technician took measurements at my house. A few weeks later a nice new unit, better than before was installed and properly vented. Very happy with the help, service and consultant provided by Ambler team in the Colmar store. Would definitely recommend and use again if needed.

We did not have a good experience with Ambler Fireplace. We wanted a gas fireplace insert. They sent someone out to measure for $95. It took 3 minutes and we could have easily done it ourselves. After having told us during our store visit that they could do what we wanted (we did give them our fireplace dimensions), after coming to measure, they called and said they could only do logs (which draw heat out of the room straight up the chimney) and that what we wanted wasn't possible for the size of our fireplace.
We went to another store where we were given two options from the Regency catalogue, one of which we are going with. It would be one thing if they said we don't carry the brand that makes them or we don't want to bother, but they out and out lied saying it can't be done. Ugh. No.

I have purchased new fireplace doors from AF, and based on that good experience I recently purchased a new mailbox. They installed it promptly and their staff was careful and courteous. The price of the product is a little higher than I expected, but the quality looks very good and I am hoping it holds up over time.

Ambler replaced our wood burning fireplace with a gas one a few years ago and WE LOVE IT! We've saved on our energy costs, too, because it heats the whole family room so we're able to keep the thermastat lowered for the rest of the house. The service dept is reliable & customer service is a pleasure to work with. Would have given 5 stars but I think the annual service is too expensive.

I called this company to inquire about having the marble around our fireplace, which had cracked and fallen off, replaced. The person on the phone was very nice but was unable to schedule an appointment for someone to come look at it for ten days. That seemed excessive to me but they have a good local reputation so I went along with it. They charge $95 to have someone even look at it, also.
The appointment windows are 3-hours and they do nothing to try to narrow that time for you (even Comcast does better than that!). When I called a few days before the appointment to confirm the time I was told someone named John would be here between 9-10:30AM. I was pleased that they had narrowed the time frame a little for me. However, at 11:30 on the day of the appointment, I called the company because the technician had not arrived.
I was told the appointment had been rescheduled between 10-1. No one had even told me so I was really annoyed by this inconvenience, but again they have a decent reputation so I went with it. After several hours passed and no one showed u, at 12:30 the company called my husband at work to say the technician was in center city, at least an hour away, and the earliest he could get here was now 2:30-4:30.
I guess they didn't call me because they knew i was already upset. Whomever scheduled this technician for back to back appointments so far apart distance wise is clearly at fault here. Again I was angry but I said since my entire day was ruined waiting on him already, if they could get him here at 4:00, I could still get the measurements taken.
I had given up an entire day of work to be here already. This technician had not been answering his phone all day so the communication took a very long time. They always had to call me back because he wasn't answering. The scheduler finally called me back an hour later and said the technician "would do his best" to get here BY 4:00.i said i needed him here AT 4:00.
At that point, I finally said "No" because they're "BEST" clearly left a lot to be desired and I had no reason to believe even that the 4:00 time would be honored. Needless to say this is one of the poorest scheduling jobs and customer service encounters I've ever been subjected to. 6 hours after this company was originally supposed to be here, no one has shown up.
Not only does this company disrespect you enough to keep you waiting for 3 hours for any appointment, but then they just bump you without telling you and then say the technician MIGHT be here 6-8 hours late but they couldn't guarantee it! I insisted we get our scheduling fee back and was told they would "try" to refund it today. Wow! I didn't even argue at that point.
Clearly they don't get it. What a terrible experience! If this is the kind of service you get when they are trying to EARN your business, imagine how bad it would be once they had your money and you were trying to schedule something to be installed. Absolutely awful scheduling and customer service from Ambler Fireplace and Patio. There are plenty of companies who do what these people do. Stay Away from these guys!

Thank you for reaching out to us as new customers. In fact, within 24 hours of reading this review Ambler called and a technician came Monday morning with the new parts. While that was very much appreciated I should not have had to write my original one star review. We have a working fireplace now, it is lovely, and Ambler has hopefully corrected the disconnect between selling and first rate customer service. Thank you for getting back to us.

We more or less knew what we wanted, just needed to decide on gas vs electric. Because of our work schedules, we were unable to physically go to the store so relied on their website and sales people via phone. I have to say that the sales person we dealt with was a bit rude and not the most pleasant to deal with. We did always receive call backs and information as promised but not the most pleasant experience.
The employees who came out for the site inspection were friendly and on-time but arrived without brochures as requested and informed us that delivery and installation of the unit was included in the purchase price. However, when we decided on, and ordered, an electric unit through the sales department, we were told that we would have to do the installation ourselves and that delivery of the unit would be an extra $150. Overall not the best experience and would likely not do business with them again.

My husband and I are so happy that we decided to go with Amber Fireplace and Patio for our new pellet stove insert. We shopped around at a few places before deciding on Amber Fireplace and Patio. The wood burning insert that we were replacing cause some unique issues which concerned us but Karl was very helpful and patient in walking us through all of our options.
The team that came out to work on the removal and installation of the pellet stove was professional and courteous. We couldn't be happier with our new pellet stove. We are looking forward to the cold weather arriving now that our new Mt Vernon stove will keep us warm.

We just had Ambler Fireplace and Patio install two new gas fireplaces for us. These installations were in upstairs bedrooms - two floors up from the source of gas in the basement. Our instruction was to find a way to install these without disrupting our walls or paneling. Two prior firms who looked at the job were unable to find a solution for us. Ambler Fireplace and Patio solved the challenge without major disruptions to the house.
They were extremely responsive, professional, courteous and tidy. The log sets that were installed look completely natural - we love them! The price for all of this work was fair and competitive. We are very happy with the outcome and would strongly recommend Ambler Fireplace and Patio

We were considering getting a wood stove but had no clue what to tell look for. The sales team was very knowledgeable and patient, and there was no sales pressure. Truly an enjoyable experience. A good stove is an expensive but worthy investment, and the sales process did not sour the experience as it often can.

I had a problem with my fireplace and up being that the remote has melted from the fireplace. We had only had it for a year-and-a-half. I received excellent service from Susan train and from the rest of the Ambler fireplace company. If you ever want to have a gas fireplace done at your house. You go to Ambler fireplace you will receive excellent service and you are treated as if you are the only customer.
They have over 50 years experience and I show it and the customer service is excellent. A+ with me and I only wish they could be the best for the nother 50 years. You receive service like this with other companies that much. So come and see Ambler fireplace. And also another thing the sales people are not pushy in any way shape or form. Specially Susan she's not pushing.

Overall, our experience purchasing patio furniture was good. The sales associates in the Colmar location were kind and helpful. The showroom has a decent selection and they have many other sets that you can order and/or customize to your preferences. There was a delay in receiving our patio table (backordered) and the store went out of their way and delivered us their floor model, which was the exact same, to use until our table came in.
This was really helpful as we were able to use the floor model for most of the summer. The only negative I can see is the pricing. There was some sort of big sale early in the patio furniture season (Apr-May timeframe) as most furniture places do, but we checked prices at a nearby competitor ("Neighbors" in Hellertown) and the competitor's normal prices were the same as Ambler's big sale prices.
So as long as you do your research and get a second quote for the set you're interested in, then you'll know that you're getting a fair price. Don't let that discourage you, I still think Ambler fireplace and patio is on the level and definitely worth checking out.

We purchased a wood pellet fireplace insert from Ambler Fireplace four years ago. We had a excellent experiences with everyone there and we highly recommend them. The installation process was great, we use Ambler to service the stove and chimney every year and we now buy our pellets from them. Fair pricing, outstanding attention and the best service we could ask for.
For the first couple of years, we used to buy our pellets elsewhere and have the stove and chimney serviced by another company. We weren't dissatisfied with the other providers but did not realize how much better Ambler Fireplace is until we used them. We will be back year after year.

We went to the Ambler location looking for a Natural Gas Weber Grill and a gas insert for the winter. The salesperson was very knowledgable and was able to help us find the perfect grill. We ordered it and we were called by a friendly and professional young lady. We scheduled delivery for a Friday because we were having a graduation party and wanted to use it.
They were unloading the grill and one of the ropes that held the grill came loose and the grill was damaged. I was afraid our party would be ruined. The delivery person called the store and they were able to get a brand new unit out the same day. Customer service was the best! We will be going back for an insert for sure.
