The only organization in Westchester that takes your furniture donation and gives it free of charge, DIRECTLY to those who need it most. Furniture Sharehouse will be open for drop-offs every Wednesday and Thursday and the third Saturday of every month from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Catch our video to see what we do and why we do it! Every year in Westchester, many are forced to live without even the most essential household furnishings because after paying for rent and food, they have no money to buy the basic furniture that many of us take for granted.
Services
Furniture Sharehouse provides free furniture to economically disadvantaged individuals and families living in Westchester County, giving them the basic household furnishings that enable them to rebuild their lives and live with dignity. In 2006, our founder, Kate Bialo, through her work as Past President of the Junior League of Westchester on the Sound (JLWOS), learned that there was a gap between needy families in Westchester that had no furniture and tons of furniture that was being discarded because it was no longer needed.
Dave Vitullo has been an integral part of Furniture Sharehouse since even before we officially opened our doors in 2007. Sara Cremins is our "behind the scenes" Office Manager who keeps Furniture Sharehouse running smoothly. She manages all our Member Agency matters, including scheduling client appointments.
Thank you so much for your offer to donate furniture. We want to make sure your donation fits our clients' needs. Please check our Donation Guidelines to make sure we can accept your donations. Furniture Sharehouse is 501(3) tax-exempt organization, and we will provide you with a Furniture Donation Form acknowledging your furniture donation for tax purposes.
We rely on our volunteers for all aspect of our operations. We couldn't do what we do without volunteers. Furniture Sharehouse Volunteers are all ages, come from all walks of life and have a broad range of time commitment. Our Volunteers are caring and talented individuals and have become like a family united by the desire to make a difference in the lives of the client families we help serve. Please join us! From helping clients select furniture to fundraising, see what opportunities are right for you.

In preparation for a move, my family decided to finally let go of several pieces of furniture. Since the furniture was all in good condition and several pieces were solid wood, not the particle board or MDF furniture that is ubiquitous these days, I wanted to donate more thoughtfully and not just take the pieces to one of the bigger thrift stores.

Furniture Share House fit the bill. I had heard about this organization. It gives the furniture to families in need. I made an appointment for their van to pick up my pieces. They came in a timely manner and loaded everything. A $50 donation is suggested to cover the cost to pick up and you get a tax donation form. All good!
