I am confused why Luminaire refers to their Interior Architects as Architects. Its misleading and they should know they are not the same thing.

SAD example of a great shop going lame. I have been a (good) customer since 2007 and am still happy they are in Chicago. To be honest last few times i have been there, the place does not feel as good as before. I put it on COVID. but. Went there 8 days ago to check on some USM cabinets for my son's room. I was told i would have some designs and estimates in a few days.

I told them i would go back on Saturday with my son. (i have already bought many USM cabinets from them, 7 or 8. Sure enough as i went there, the champ tells me he was about to message me to say their architect was busy and could not do the estimate. Certainly understandable but why not message me and let me know ahead of my Saturday planned visit. I understand there is another place in Chicago that carries USM.

Seriously overpriced one style items. It seems like museum shop. Staff totally ignores you when you walk in. It seems like you are nuisance when you walk around. Nobody even acknowledges clients. I would probably buy some items if not for obnoxious attitude. "To sell is human" Read the book. Oh, I am sorry you probably have monopoly on clients. Sorry to bother you

This showroom is very beautiful and the sales staff is very knowledgable. I have shopped here for years and always have a good experience, I can even send my clients here by themselves and I know they will be taken care of.

I walked into this store a few weeks ago with a decent budget after having moved into a new condo. The merchandise looked nice. However, legitimately not one associate looked up at me from his/her desks/computers or offered to help. At all. I was given such little acknowledgement or attention that I had to confirm I was actually in a store and not a workspace.

Simply the best furnishings, accessories, staff, and vendors meticulously curated inside of this gallery honoring good design. Luminaire rises above the rest. As a former employee I can say that the staff is extremely knowledgable, and of course the price points are higher. Luminaire sells some of the finest furniture in the world. Definitely worth spending a day strolling up and down the floors of this church to the design gods.

My husband and I visited the store today - after we got rained upon, so we looked kind of grungy. No other customers were in the store so they definitely weren't busy but nevertheless no greeting or even a slight nod of acknowledgement came our way. Maybe they knew we didn't want to spend almost $6,000 for a lousy looking leather chair especially if it totally lacked any unique design elements. I'll stick to Room&Board or Mitchell Gold & Bob Williams- the salespeople are nice and the furniture is great :-

Pretty amazing that in perusing three entire floors, my friend and I (both designers) were not acknowledged or greeted.not even just with eye contact and a smile, not once. We were amazed by the gratuitous snootery. Beautiful things, but they aren't concerned with the walk in shoppers. We both had our eye on something, but decided to buy elsewhere. Good design does not equal "untouchable."

THE best furniture store in Chicago hands down. Pricey but worth it considering it's uniqueness. Gulcin and Manuel often team up on project and they make a killer team. GREAT experience!

I have been a fan of Luminaire for years! When you need that special gift, or really want to stand out in a crowd - Go to Luminare. I typically shop at the Coral Gables, Florida showroom, but really love the layout and feel of the Chicago Showroom. I have always thought that "You get what you pay for" and when you shop at Luminare you get quality and designs that last - no press-board furniture here. Goods that last for years and years, and that equals Value!

One day, hopefully sooner rather than later, my entire kitchen will be from Luminaire. Almost all the pieces you'll find are cutting edge, yet sleek and tasteful. The floor staff are as much educators as they are sales people; in fact, there are times I've gone in to browse and ended up having a 20-30 minute discussion on design theory with someone who was just as enthusiastic about it as I was. If you're planning anything with your home's interior, you owe it to yourself to at least stop in and look around.

I walked into this place looking for a specific light and when I asked the salesman he looked at me like I had just insulted him. Apparently my taste wasn't expensive enough for their store.

I recently refurnished my house and in the process visited 95% of the high-end, contemporary furniture stores in Chicago. Luminaire is, to me, unquestionably the best. It is the "go to" store for modern furniture in Chicago. Their showroom is huge and their design consultants are very knowledgeable. I worked with Gulcin, who was fantastic. It is also the only store in Chicago which sells B&B Italia.

People say Luminaire's expensive. Yes, in relation to average furniture, it's not cheap, but for what you're gettting, I've found that in relation to other retailers, they're reasonable. I saw a dining table at Orange Skin I liked and nearly ordered it before I got a quote from Luminaire. I went to Luminaire and ordered it.

Get a price on any B&B Italia piece, and then call any B&B Italia retail store and Luminaire will be cheaper. The B&B chairs I ordered were about 15% cheaper than the B&B Italia store in LA. They also have great parties when new collections arrive.

Well hello rude sales associate. Why are you ignoring me? Is it the sloppy jeans and hoodie I threw on to meet a friend for a quick lunch? Or is it the mascara still under my eyes from last night? Oooh- cute white desk! I'll just take a look at it myself, while you so rudely sit at your desk and pretend like I'm not in your store. $8000 for a tiny white desk? Yikes! Oooh- cool lamp!

That would look uhmazing in my living room. Uh, can't afford that either. OK, salesgirl- you win. I'll go home and take a shower. Thanks for the oh so helpful customer service (note the sarcasm).

The most beautiful pieces for your home are to be had at Luminaire. The bf is addicted, we have many pieces from there. I love to shop the store because they create such fun, intimate spaces you can see yourself living in.

Top quality designs from Europe. Wish I could afford to shop here more often. Lovely to visit though.

Which store manager would give up his own new bookcase so you could have it instead? Luminaire surprised me with their excellent service. We were there to look for furniture for our den, with nothing specific in mind, but were blown away not only by the designs (wow!) but also the service (served water and biscuits!). We ordered two book shelves from Italy which were going to take 4 months to arrive- not good for us.

So we were going to buy the ones off the floor, when the manager offered his own (new) to us. He had ordered it for his new house and it had already arrived in Chicago. That meant we could have ours in 3 weeks. Super super service. I'm going back for sure.

This is by far one of the best design stores in Chicago. Period. Not only do they have a design-literate staff, but their staff is well-mannered, and helpful. Like most people and places who actually *know* what they are doing they don't have to have attitude to be on the map. They actually have some items in stock (don't have to pay an extra fee for shipping their goods across the country like some other local places.) and they are great about returns- no hassle, no attitude.

If you want to be inspired by the best and latest in international design and can't make it to Milan, take a walk in side their superior showroom. If you've got $7000 for a sofa, spend it here.

This is a fixtures store beloved by architects and interior designers. One of my architect friends (he works for one of the largest firms in the city) received a free lamp for visiting the showroom.
