This family-owned business treated us like we were one of them. We were greeted at the door and again as we moved around the store. We were allowed to browse at our own pace. Once we had decided on an item, John was exteremly helpful and accommodating. The inventory is beautiful. If you want quality furniture, that you can take home with you, or have custom made, this is the place to go.

The Chair Shop is a modestly hidden gem both for the quality of its Made in USA products and for its no-pressure service. I just love the mini rocker I bought in exactly the right shade of blue and the two finely-crafted kitchen chairs. Andy was very flexible in scheduling a very fast delivery, which happened right on time. Prospective customers looking for chairs and tables should make the effort to visit the Industrial Zone on Edsall Rd in Alexandria!

The chair shop has relocated just up the street and now is part of Warehouse Showrooms. The two brothers are under the same roof with all the same solid American made quality. Bought several chairs from the outfit pre Covid. Significant patronage dollars wise. Attempted to modify one of the chairs, took 6 months to determine the order was misplaced. Then decided to simply order another chair.entered into Covid. Nothing heard. No longer want to do business with this outfit. The owner became practically hostile when I made inquiries at the interval promised or longer. Really feel slighted and disrespected. I would say.if it is on the floor buy it. Don't order from these guys it will go into a time warp.

Everything is comparably priced to a big box store, but you can customize each piece. It's also all made from real wood and has held up extraordinarily well. We wouldn't shop for furniture anywhere else.

The owner, Rusty, is extremely knowledgeable. In addition, he wants to please and have you choose the right furniture for your needs. He is very accommodating and his inventory is excellent. I drove a goodly distance to go to his store.

We loved the design of this solid wood table set. The Chair Shop is the dealer for the manufacturer of the table set. As the reviews for the Chair Shop seemed good, we decided to get the table set from the Chair Shop. After a little over 2 years of light use, we noticed a crack along the wood grain in one of the legs of the table. Local furniture repair stores we consulted all agreed that the crack was due to manufacture defects (the design, the chosen wood, and/or the way of crafting). However, the Chair Shop did not provide us satisfactory post-purchase service and also was not cooperative when we contacted the manufacturer.

We won't buy any furniture from the Chair shop and won't recommend any of our friends buy furniture from them. Luckily we have plenty of other solid wood dealers in our area.

Wonderful place! I had been looking for a Dutailier glider for a long time and found one here the other day for less than what I would pay for a used one on Craigslist! Granted there was sale going on and I was able to take advantage of that but nevertheless it was fun to look at all the chairs and try them out before deciding on the glider. Great selection of material if you want to custom order a chair, no pressure or pushy sales staff. I didn't look at tables or other items that were for sale but the store has a lot to offer, at reasonable prices.

We ordered a new sofa from The Chair Shop this summer. Rusty and his associate were extremely professional. They were informative but not in the least pushy. They were very patient with us as we spent a long time deciding on the fabric. They were realistic about how long it would take for the sofa to arrive, which turned out to be about 7 weeks. The gentlemen who delivered it were prompt and we are delighted with our purchase!

Had some chairs done 19 years ago, they still look beautiful. About 10 years about 10 years ago, I returned and purchased the remaining fabric that I used on my chairs to have some custom window seat cushions done. I'm very excited because I will be taking my mom next weekend to have some chairs done for her

I had a problem with cushions from a sofa that I purchased from them about a year ago. I reached out to The shop and they promptly resolved the issue. First rate shop and service. I highly recommend the Chair Shop!

My mother and enjoyed a very comfortable & rewarding shopping experience. Almost all of their chairs are made in the USA. Mom bought a beautiful red chir and the guys delivered it 20 min after we called to let them know we were home. Five star service all around. You will not be disappointed

Bought a sofa there a year ago. During normal use a leg on the sofa broke. I called the store informed them of the issue and within 72 hours my couch was fixed by the original maker at no cost to me. I would certainly by again they are very personable and friendly.

I bought a leather recliner at The Chair Shop a few years ago. I received a great discount, which dropped the price to a similar level as a mid-range Lazyboy recliner. But this recliner is so much nicer. It has stood up well and is incredibly comfortable. I bought in stock but you can order a wide range of chairs and stools. Delivery was same day!

This place is definitely a hidden gem. Found it after a friend recommended we check it out. They have so many styles to choose it was easy to find something that worked in our house. Customer service is top notch and quality of product was great. Definitely check it out.

Great quality and fair pricing. the owner is very well mannered and knowledgeable of every piece of furniture he sells. My mom and I bought a set of island counter chairs and they fit in lovely. I would strongly recommend any people looking for new style and old style all hardwood chairs to check out "the chair shop".

Options, options, options! Tons of fabric & wood colors to choose from. Every chair (straight wood or covered) is COMFORTABLE. Not sure how they do it- must just be a symptom of great USA craftsmanship. It's a bonus that all this comes while supporting a local shop. GO CHAIR SHOP!

What a find! A marvelous selection of customizable wood chairs and tables hidden in a nondescript warehouse. Prices were reasonable, with some good deals on in stock product. Helpful sales staff, but not pushy. If you're looking for solid wood furniture, check them out.

So many chairs, choices and made in the USA! One of the few local, small businesses left in the area and they know how to do it right! I got my super comfortable dark green glider for my baby's room and it is wonderful. Great quality and had a fun time picking it out. You won't find better prices either. I will definetly go back for all of my furniture needs!

With a little one on the way we needed a rocker or glider chair for our nursery. The Chair Shop does carry upholstered swivel rockers from Best Chairs (Indiana), and wood gliders from Dutailier (Quebec), but our small nursery meant we needed a compact traditional wooden rocking chair. We chose from the upstairs selection a beautiful arrow back oak Amish rocker from Genuine Oak Designs (Ohio).

The manufacturer is a member of the Hardwood Furniture Guild so commits to using sustainably harvested hardwoods, low-VOC stains, and formaldehyde free construction. We were impressed by the high quality of craftsmanship with counter-sunk hex-head screws (nothing to catch on), smooth surfaces and curved edges (no corners), a high back to rest our heads on, smooth rocking motion, much lighter and less bulk than a glider or swivel chair.

The salesman at the Chair Shop let us borrow the floor model for us to check it would fit in our nursery space, it fit perfectly. The upholstery shop next door can make up chair pads.

After years of hand-me-downs from roommates, thrift stores, previously furnished houses, etc, it was time to finally purchase some quality furniture that will hopefully last a lifetime. We've spent a lot of weekends in furniture stores the past few months - generally not our idea of a good time. We've learned that you definitely have to pay for quality solid wood furniture and there has been a bit of sticker shock for us. BUT, all that said, The Chair Shop clearly sells very high quality wooden chairs and tables (and lots of other stuff as well). We're very happy with the beautiful expanding table and chairs that have arrived so far, and are looking forward to the rest being delivered.

Everyone in the shop was extremely friendly and helpful, but a special shout out to our salesman, Kowen (sp?), who was patient and honest with us through 3 trips to the store as we tried to make up our minds. One small word of advice: They have a decent selection in the store of pieces you can take right away, but most items need to be ordered and will take 6-8 weeks, so be prepared to plan ahead to get exactly what you want! I give it 3 $$$ because there is much cheaper furniture out there. However, considering the quality of the items, I'd give it 2 $$ for value.

Simply the best and lowest priced furniture shop in the VA, DC, MD area. I have been into over 40 furniture stores in the past 30 years - Rusty beats the price on everyone of them. My most recent purchase he saved me $350 dollars on the powered leather love seat. Then he saved me more money by telling me NOT to buy the warranty. ("I make money on the sale, you waste yours" He told me.) His delivery and setup cost was half that of others.

I ordered over the phone with the item number. I now live over an hour from his shop - didn't matter. He was here when he said he would be. I have purchased over 30 items of furniture over the years. King sized bed, bar stools, kitchen counter furniture, easy chairs etc. How does he do it? His display area is a jumble of furniture - no real displays.

He doesn't "sell" - he assists and advises. He has catalogs with the very best American manufacturers. He and his staff know their stuff. Oh, yes, I had a problem with a piece of furniture many years ago - he personally came to my house to fix it. Ask for Rusty. Tell him Dr. Joe sent you. You will really save if you see a VERY high priced item at another store. His margins and costs are just so low.

Was looking for bar stools to fit my kitchen counter. Rusty and his staff were most helpful. They had a great selection and were able to cut the stools to accomodate the unusual counter height. Definitely my go to furniture store.
