I first visited years ago and had a positive experience with Wendy. I returned this year and had Lynn's assistance with designing a sofa and pillows. Both Lynn and Wendy were helpful, patient and showed integrity. The products are excellent and are made in NC. Large selection of fabrics.

We had our sofa made 20 yrs ago, when we moved to beach! It's still looks brand new. It's SO comfortable, & we love it!

Good place to review all items manufactured. Lori was patient and understanding and has many insights with great guidance. Suggest you check them out!

Excellent customer service from the owner and his employees. All of my questions were answered in a professional manner and the quality of their product is top notch in the furniture industry. I highly recommend you stop in if you are shopping for quality furniture.

Many years of good experiences with customer service (Wendy is fantastic) and great quality stylish furniture with a huge selection of fabrics to make each piece your own. This is our go to place for furniture.

Let me say this store is a hidden gem in Raleigh. The selection of furniture and fabrics are outstanding to customize anything you need to decorate your home. The staff is so helpful and great to work with to meet your every need. I highly recommend Dexter Furniture on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh. You will not be disappointed!

My girlfriend, her family and I browsed briefly in this store looking for a couch for my girlfriend's apartment. One of the sales representatives came over to help us and after expressing to her we were looking for something a little more modestly priced (the prices were lofty, as is most furniture) the sales lady directed us to some other discount furniture places and said we could come back when my girlfriend had a "first rate job".

I found this comment extremely condescending, and classless. This establishment will never receive any of my business. Such treatment to potential customers is tactless and unprofessional.

Terrible experience. The chair wasn't right from the day they delivered it. They kept saying they would make it right and then telling me why I did not need to have it fixed/changed. 1. It is very uncomfortable. It sits wrong. Not like the ones in the store. 2. It is unattractive. The cushions do not appear to fit the frame properly. 3. It is a chair that rocks.

And it squeaks so terribly, no one wants to sit in it. My neighbor purchased one at the same time. Hers also sits poorly. They told her to turn it around. Terribly made furniture. Wish I had read the reviews first. Neither chair is anywhere near as comfortable as what we tried in the store. A waste of $1000.

I feel compelled to write this review to balance out the only other review of this store. We were referred to Dexter by a few different friends and are thrilled with the comfort and quality of our sofa and love seat. (Our cushions are spring down and are in no way hard.) Delivery was faster than promised and prices are very reasonable. There are more fabrics than you can imagine - if anything, there are so many, it's overwhelming.

The service was good; Liz was very patient with us as we spent several hours sorting through fabrics to find the perfect mix. In fact, I'm planning to go back soon to order a pair of chairs to match my sofa and love seat. I highly recommend Dexter to anyone looking for custom upholstered furniture.
