Have loved City Schemes since shopping in the Natick store in the 90's. Recently ordered a leather replacement on a floor sample Sedona chair I purchased a few years ago. Joanne was so great in tracking down the last one.sent me updates every step of the way. Went to get the new piece installed last week--the crew was out making a delivery--the manager at the store (and owner, as well) put the new seat on for us while we waited 20 minutes. Such great service; such great furniture. We will be back for sure!

It was a bit of a wait due to the pandemic, but it's worthy. Joanne was so patient and responsive to all the emails and phone calls. She went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. Great experience!

As a former resident of Cambridge, used to l live around the corner from their showroom on Mass Ave (in what we used to call, the furniture ghetto). Although there was stiff competition from many competing retailers: Crate & Barrel (former Design Research space), Heartwood, Bowl and Board, The Home Design Store, Dynasty Furniture, later BoConcept, etc., (no DWR at that time), City Schemes consistently had the most practical, stylish, and accessible selections.

Over the years, I had bought a desk, dining table, bed, and night tables, and was always fully satisfied with all aspects of the purchase. I've since moved to Brookline. The Italian Stefano Cavazzana platform bed I bought in 2008, somehow the metal frame warped, due probably to excess or uneven weight/stress. At first I despaired to be able to replace it, since I love the bed, so before doing any kind of internet search I contacted the Sales Dept at City Schemes.long story short about 2 months later and for $250 delivered and tipped, I have an exact replacement frame!

The store keeps immaculate records of all sales, I did have my original receipt as well, but in my mind it was a long shot this was ever going to work out, and that it did so, and so perfectly, is a commendation to this store and the way they stand behind their products. I would have HATED to through the hassle of needing a new bed, or searching for hours and hours to find the correct replacement platform if I even could have? Thank you Joanne and everyone involved. Not only does City Schemes have some of the most beautiful furniture around, but they have a skilled and talented group of people to work with you. From Salesperson Joanne, who helped resolve a problem with a table arriving damaged and ensured that the replacement still got to me in time for an important dinner, to Mostafa, who delivered and set up the table in my dining room.

He and his colleague came on time - even a bit early - and were gone in 30 minutes. But they took their time making sure I liked the placement of the table and was comfortable with opening and closing the extension. They were just super - competent and courteous. I wouldn't hesitate to go to City Schemes again the next time I want to invest in a beautiful piece of furniture.

I woman in sales that I spoke with over the phone was extremely rude and argumentative and refused to give me a quote on a sectional I was looking for.

Had a great experience with City Schemes. Joanne is wonderful to work with, and our couches exceeded our expectations.

City Schemes delivered the wrong sized couch after 16 weeks. Ruben Espitia verified that twice and didnt cooperate for any reasonable resolution. He asked for us to wait another 16 weeks to get the right couch. He offered no discount or keeping the wrong couch shipped till we get the replacement. Instead he was rather unprofessional and a bully. He firmly believes the client has to bear all costs and losses.

This store has an interesting selection of living room furniture at excellent prices. Friendly and accommodating staff. Very easy to find and park. Hidden gem.

Love this place. There are tons of choices. I like how the inventory is fresh and trendy. Our sectional couch fits as planned. Thank you for making delivery easy, sorry we made you wait for us. City Schemes was really understanding of our scheduling drama.

Very happy with the quality of the furniture, especially after having visited several popular chain furniture stores. Joanne is great to work with and helped us select a leather sectional, fabric sofa and bedroom furniture all in one afternoon. She kept us updated by e-mail/phone about furniture arrival and delivery. Received a clean loaner sofa as custom leather furniture does take 12-16 weeks. Delivery was smooth and hassle-free.

First, the furniture at this store is beautiful. They have variety, a range of prices, and a lot of inventory, which meant less wait time for my order. Joanne was very helpful in my purchase of office furniture. This was the second time I was purchasing and both experiences have been excellent. Joanne arranged delivery according to my scheduling needs. The delivery was on time and very professional. I highly recommend this locally owned store.

Profane language? Is that what you were told? Incredible! In hindsight, I have zero regret for having left this review. Not only was the person I spoke with very rude, now I understand she lies as well. Perhaps your business deserves her.

We recently moved into a new condo on Somerville and have been furniture shopping. We tried some of the furniture stores downtown but our HANDS DOWN favorite spot has been City Schemes. We haven't frequented any other furniture store since we discovered them, because not only do they stock gorgeous, high quality modern furniture, but they are transparent about their prices and they strive to provide the BEST customer service I've experienced from any furniture store.

We had a minor issue with one of our deliveries and they were amazing (especially Igal!) with how rapidly and effectively they addressed our concern. We've bought several items so far and we're in the process of furnishing the rest of our new condo with their help!

After shopping around for similar tables at many places (incl West Elm, Crate & Barrel, Cort, among others), I found that City Schemes had the widest selection of bar-height stuff, including tables and chairs, while other places focused on counter-height stuff. In addition to great and honest service from manager Igal, who will help you find the right pieces mindful of your budget and space, City Schemes has the best selection of modern, elegant, yet classic styles that that is so hard to find elsewhere at a decent price. Will be going back for rugs, coffee tables, accent tables, and chairs.

Exceptional service and finds for those of us who enjoy finding deals on gems. I love the thoughtfulness that goes into the displays as well.

Excellent selection of furniture at reasonable price. Absolutely terrible delivery scheduling. Delivery itself is fine. However they have you basically wait ALL DAY. When they show up, they have missing item. Of course, they say if you are not home when they show up, they are gonna charge for delivery again, etc.

My husband and I brought a replacement cover for a split back couch because it's original cover is cracking. After waiting the 18 weeks, we just received an email saying there was something wrong with the vender AND it'll take another 16 weeks plus. That's it. Oh and a smilie face. That's absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional.

They also have been giving us a run around with how much it cost to have them put the cover on the couch, it's another $300. Do not give them your business. They are wishy washy and won't give you any straight answers.

While we're frustrated that we've been waiting 7 months for a Gus Modern sofa we bought at City Schemes in January, I need to upgrade my review with an additional star with good news - got a call from City Schemes today - they went to bat for us with Gus Modern and are giving us our sofa for FREE and it should arrive my mid-August. I am both wow'd by this response and cautiously optimistic.another star will be posted once the couch actually arrives - thank you to Joanne and team!

Awesome experience. I am furnishing my new loft and looked everywhere--from Boston to Providence and everywhere in between. I wanted a Gus couch but most stores had just one on display so I couldn't sit-test the different models. Went to City Schemes yesterday and found all of the different models and so much more. Ended up furnishing most of the loft including dining table and chairs, king bed, and couch for less than I was planning to spend on one couch elsewhere. Was able to get the Italian look, great quality, and not break the bank. Joanne was awesome.

She let us shop without hovering but was there to answer any questions. Showroom is huge--so plan to spend some time there to make your way through everything. Highly recommend if you are looking for more contemporary look.

Had a great experience this week, we bought a table and a sofa, the salesman in the store was very patient with us as we spent quite a bit of time looking around etc. What mostly stood out to me was a) the delivery crew was excellent, they had the furniture fully wrapped/protected and got this couch up a pretty narrow staircase in our 100 year old Charlestown home, and b) they took back a chair I bought and had taken home earlier - the delivery guys picked it up and handed me a check for the full amount, no questions asked. I'd definitely recommend and hope to buy from again.

I generally like their furniture which is modern with reasonable prices considering the quality. I have purchased from the Harvard Square and former Natick (?) locations as well. But on a recent trip to the Somerville store I inquired about a sofa I liked. I wanted to know if it came in a love seat. The salesperson came back to me a few minutes later and said NO it did not.

Being the persistent person that I am, I was able to find out the maker and locate them on line. Oh why YES -the sofa did come in a loveseat size! Did the salesperson at City Schemes really bother to look up my request? Or were they just too lazy thinking I was not gonna buy anyway. In any case. their loss of a sale. I found same exact the furniture on-line for a lower price and yes, free shipping (not to mention no tax).
