A Candle in the Night began in 1973 as an import store featuring fine handcrafts from around the world. Our goal was to collect the best and most beautiful handmade products we could find, and present them in an environment that would inspire our clientele with their authenticity. While our showroom has closed after 46 years, we are excited to continue online and bringing quality, handwoven rugs to longtime and future customers. A Candle in the Night now offers high quality home furnishings that are especially eco-friendly. The availability of a new generation of organic sofas and chairs and other furniture made only with non-toxic materials has added a highly sustainable element to our inventory. Most of our wooden pieces from China, India and Brazil are renovated antiques or made from recycled wood and we specialize in Oriental rugs woven with hand-spun wool and natural dyes.We also provide professional design services and consultations.

I love this furniture store, it's so much more than just rugs, they have high end affordable furniture and all the employees are so helpful. A candle in the night is the epitome of small business Brattleboro. I would recommend everyone stop by if you're in town.
