Founded in 1997, the inspiration for Salem Board & Beam came from the passion that founder, Ken Salem developed by working with his family to restore an old farmhouse in West Brookfield, Massachusetts and transforming it into a restaurant, the Salem Cross Inn, which dates back to 1705. It's a team approach at Salem Board & Beam.
We design these stately pieces of furniture to look good, and hold anything. Our Armoires are hand-crafted from the finest salvaged, reclaimed and specialty hardwoods, and feature high-end joinery, and book matching of all panels. Unlike most furniture makers that use randomly selected boards for an armoire's door panels, we use hand selected woods, and our book matching technique to spotlight a uniquely beautiful piece of wood.
Jewelry cases aren't just for storage. They are a graceful piece of furniture that will enhance your bedroom, or any other room in your home. Our jewelry cases are available in a number of different configurations and sizes. Additionally, we offer a selection of colors for our velvet lined drawers and compartments that include black, burgundy, navy blue, emerald, and more.
Whether it's a live-edge conference table or a seamless wood, resin and stone countertop, contemporary furniture brings a striking outdoor element to your home or office. Each piece starts with us finding a unique piece of wood, and the design then flows from the wood's natural contour and tone. Seamless surfaces and edges move from wood to resin creating an illusion of materials suspended in air. The thoughtful incorporation of resin and stone adds our vision to the live-edge work inspired by George Nakashima.
