Our tables do very well in a home that is not too hot and not too dry.In other words, moderation is the key. In conclusion, as long as the table functions and is structurally sound on the day it arrives in your home, any movement of wood, any visible cracks, due to excessive shrinkage, stains, burns, scratches, etc. are considered cosmetic.

New England Joinery is located in East Monmouth, Maine. Just outside of Augusta, Maine's capital. We are only 30 minutes from Freeport, and just 2.5 hrs from Boston. A straight and scenic trip up route 95 brings you to our workshop & Keeping Room, where you will find tables in progress, finished pieces, handcrafted Windsor chairs and so much more.
We understand that some of our customers may not be able to wait for one of our custom dining tables. That is why we will be offering three different styles of tables available in our keeping room for faster delivery or customer pick up. These tables will be set sizes, leg styles and finishes to keep build times down.
In assisting with the design of your table, one of the first things to consider is the basic shape. Different factors can come into play with this decision, but none more important than realizing how the table will be used, and any limitations that the shape and size of the room might have on the table itself.
This is a sampling of some of our refined reclaimed wood farm tables and other custom dining tables made with reclaimed and select hardwoods. As you can see, our handmade farm tables have a much more elegant look than most of the common, cabin type tables out there. Our tops are the real deal, using wide boards from 18th & 19th century buildings, not new wood made to look like old planks. We don't fake anything, distress, or "beat up " our furniture. In fact, each board is hand selected, for their grain patterns, texture and color.
