Nice place to visit for some history of the area. Details on the wool fabric mill. Also there is a car museum. We also enjoyed the shop with pieces of various things from fantastic craftsmen.

While there we visited the car museum, and the Homespun Museum. It is free to visit but I recommend a donation. Beautifully maintained museums and grounds.

Next to the exclusive Omni Grove Park Inn, this place is a find for anyone looking to acquire unique, quality art pieces from Carolina hand crafters or anyone who just loves looking at art. The Grovewood Art Gallery even let me bring my two dogs inside! I bought about $300 worth of ceramic pieces and they were all high quality, well made, original pieces of art that anyone would be proud to display in their home or office. Prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly and helpful.

The grounds are also the historic home of the old Biltmore Industries so it's fun to poke around. I visited even though I wasn't staying at the hotel. Parking is free and plentiful and the grounds are beautiful.

Fun place for a rainy day! Nice people. Fantastic art in the showroom/studio. Weird hours on most of the buildings on sight. Call ahead to make sure they're open.

Maps says open everyday. We made the trip and everything is closed from January to March. That's a huge difference from open every day!

Neat place to visit. The gentleman in the Car Museum was very friendly. The staff in the store was not very friendly, one especially. I still say visit, there's a lot of history here.

Grovewood Village is located adjacent to the Grove Park Inn. There are two parking lots that offer free parking, one near the restaurant and another closer to the museums. Grovewood Village is on 11 acres where Biltmore Industries once had its woodworking and weaving business. It is on the National Register of Historic Places. Grovewood Village is made up of Biltmore Industries Homespun Museum; the Antique Car Museum; Grovewood Gallery; artist studios; Golden Fleece restaurant and a sculpture garden.

The view of the Blue Ridge Mountains are great so you will want to spend some time here and explore the Grovewood Village as it is one of Asheville's gems and took me 15 years to find. I'm not sure how I missed it for all those years.

Oh, what a gorgeous place to feast your eyes on beautiful art of all kinds! From the sculpture garden out front to the two floors of inventive, beautifully crafted art indoors, it was a wonderful, visual treat to visit Grovewood Village. The staff were friendly and helpful. I pored over beautiful, one-of-a-kind paintings, furniture, pottery, and much more, wishing I had unlimited funds to buy the beautiful carved dresser, the playful koi bench, the fox painting on wood.and so much more! We thoroughly enjoyed walking around and seeing all the art work and building structures. Although the antique car museum was closed during the time we came. We came on tuesday and they open up Wednesday through Sunday. Its definitely a place to visit.

This "Village" is really just an area of shops and two museums next to the Grove Park Inn. I think there was also a dining hall, probably available for events, or perhaps it was a restaurant that was closed due to COVID. We were mostly interested in visiting the Grovewood Gallery to see arts, crafts and furniture. We were happy that it was actually open on a Sunday morning when a lot of other shops and attractions were closed.

We had seen the antique car museum previously so that did not interest us this time. The other museum (dedicated to cloth-making I think) was closed due to COVID. If you've done other things in Asheville, or if you really like Arts and Crafts style furnishings, it's worth a visit, and then you can also explore the Inn.

Even with Covid-19 about this gallery next to the Grove Park Inn is one of the best in Asheville! If you are looking for an upscale gift from jewelry to one-of-a-kind piece of furniture, you can't beat this place. It's a little off the beaten path but, I guarantee you will be glad you tried it. Not cheap but worth it. Once tried, you'll be back! And they giftwrap!

I loved this place. There are very interesting museums located at this village. You can enjoy here an awesome collection of old cars for free. Also can enjoy the work of many good local artists and buy their work. The nature that surround this museums is very beautiful too. I recommend this place as a good Sunday destination with family or friends.

We stopped here on a rainy late Saturday morning. There are several shops and restaurants located here. We did not sample the restaurant and there was at least one shop/museum (folk art?) that we skipped. We first went into the building that sells home decor items and furniture. There is at least one 'side gallery' with art also. The stuff here was nice, but really expensive.

If I win the lottery, I'll consider a return visit to furnish my new house, but otherwise, I'm not a likely customer. It was nice to just browse around, though; some of the furniture designs were quite interesting. It has an 'arts and crafts' style vibe, overall. We then went to the next building, which has a collection of 10 - 12 antique cars.

These range from early Fords (Model A) to cars from the 50s. Some were interesting and most had informational signs posted. Both of the above were free. There is parking on-site, but signs indicated it was specific to the village and not for the adjacent hotel. Hence we didn't end up visiting the Grove Park Inn. It may be worth a one-time stop but I doubt I'd go back.

What an interesting place to visit. Do your homework before deciding to come to Grovewood Village. In addition to the Grovewood Gallery the Gallery of the Mountains in located in the Historic Omni Park Hotel. Two hours of free parking allows for a leisurely stroll through the galleries and exhibit. If you aren't up to the walk from the Omni parking check with the hotel for a van ride to the village.

There are open studio tours available on certain days of the resident artists studios. How interesting to get up close to the processes of their art. The gift shop and gallery are chalk full of interesting art, jewelry, sculpture, furniture and more. The craft and art is unique and of extreme quality. In addition to art, the Antique Car Museum is part of the village and is free to visit.

I absolutely love this place during the holidays. The favorite part of my visit was seeing all of the fabulous gingerbread houses and the beautifully decorated Christmas trees. It feels so good to sit in the rocking chairs in front of the oversized fireplace. I love the warmth and glow of the entire place. It is a great little getaway to see the beautiful scenery, but the highlight of the entire place is to have brunch in the restaurant.

It is absolutely beyond fantastic. The food is something that you cannot miss. I love how the hostess gives you a tour of the stations before you are seated. It can be overwhelming too see so many beautiful presentations of the food that you may have to decide where to begin. It is something you do not want to miss.

We wandered into Grovewood Village while out for lunch with our two little Yorkies. We first went into the auto museum. It's a fabulous collection of antique cars. The curator allowed us to bring the dogs inside in their stroller and we pleasantly spent about 30 minutes reminiscing. Then went into the gallery, again with the dogs. The crafts, painting and pottery were all very interesting and I would have bought more items but we were traveling by air and my luggage was full.

One very exceptional piece was a blue dog that stood about 3-4 feet. When we circled the corner and the dogs saw this piece, they both started barking! Everyone in the gallery had a laugh.

A very nice gallery featuring local arts and crafts, including jewelry, pottery, woodwork and more. Very nice grounds with a cute little park nearby.

Going around turning off the lights at 4:30pm when you close at 5:00pm and people are still shopping = tacky.

I try to stop by every time I am in Asheville (actually, I try to make the rounds and see many of the wonderful galleries in the area), this is my favorite. The space is very clam and lovely. This visit we brought my mother, who is elderly and gotten very frail, with some dementia in the last few years. The staff saw us come in the door, immediately greeted us and walked us to a very lovely chair by the front that they said "Your mother can sit here all day comfortably while you shop, don't worry if she falls asleep, we have folks do that all the time" ~ so they obviously have that chair with visitors in mind.

They were very happy to tell us about the artists, and kept my mother and step father company while we shopped. When my mom got up and started to wander, the clerk pointed out another chair she might want to rest in when she got tired. I was really impressed with how kind they were on our visit. In another well known gallery, when we had to ask where the elevator was, I felt like we were interrupting and intruding, and we had actually even made purchases there.

The crafts and furniture, and the amazing wind sculptures at Grovewood always inspire me and we have purchased some amazing gifts there. I look forward to our next visit. Prices run from affordable, to amazing, but, if you are buying a piece of art as your dining room table, you will have something your grandchildren will fight over.
