I bought some of my first furniture from Indoor Furniture back in 1991. and it's still in incredible condition, still stylish and still a wonderful complement to my home. I have been a satisfied customer of Indoor Furniture for many years, I've outfitted multiple rooms in my home with item from Indoor, and have come away satisfied every time. I have a wonderful leather sectional that has served me many years, and bookcases for my library, and also a love seat for my sitting room, all have served faithfully and well. Richard is a excellent sales representative, in that he listens, and doesn't push. Give them an opportunity to satisfy you!

I wish I would have read this other reviewer's thought first because they are spot-on: "This owner needs to learn that customer satisfaction and service are paramount. Being in business for 32 years means nothing if you cannot deliver quality products and service. Do yourself and your wallet a favor and shop somewhere else." The furniture is lovely, but there is no accountability or customer service when things go wrong.

I went to buy furniture for a new apartment out of state and was promised a quick ship item (~1 month delivery), no issues with delivery. The store owner would handle all the logistics. The week the furniture was supposed to arrive, we had received no call to confirm details, so I called and was told the furniture was ready but the hardware was on backorder.

We were given a new arrival estimate for more than a month later. 3+ months later after the order was placed: - At least a dozen calls to the store, most of which werenot returned when trying to get updates on delivery. NO proactive communication of delay at any point in this process. - The owner claimed to have sent many emails that were not received, but they were not in spam/junk folders.

Other later emails were received from the owner, so this did not appear to be a technical issue on our side. - The owner asked the same questions about specifics of the delivery multiple times throughout the 3+ month time period including the week before final delivery: our contact phone number, shipping address, is a loading dock available? do we need a lift gate? etc.

I also informed them that we would need delivery to the second floor, as this is an apartment. - We have incurred rental furniture costs during the time period that the shipment was delayed. To their credit, the company offered a 10% discount off of the cost of the furniture and free shipping, but this discount hasnot been received. - At the time of the final shipment, the logistics were put on me to figure out how to get 475 lbs. up a flight of stairs.

This is because the store was not able to find a turn-key delivery service that matched the timeframe that I was able to be at the apartment to receive the delivery. Indoor Furniture was expecting us to pay for this shipping, which was not communicated at the time of purchase and which I refused to pay and had said so dating back to the early November timeframe.

We placed the order on Sep 4, 2020. It was finally receivedon Dec 14, 2020. We ended up having to carry all the boxes up to our 2nd-floor apartment ourselves. If a friendly neighbor had not been walking by or been as strong as they were, we may never have gotten the dresser up the stairs. You can't blame COVID because this was ordered 7 months into the pandemic, and the store set expectations of ~1 month delivery. However, as the delays continued and shipping logistics became a nightmare, it was put on the customer.

Best case - this is unbelievably poor customer service AND order/shipment management and I do not recommend buying from this company. The worst customer experience of my life.

Quality furniture and great deals. I caught a moving sale and Lucian, along with Eva, helped me out splendidly. I now have a beautiful set of Scandinavian desks and magazine holder that I'm using for my home office video set. So excited!

Excellent selection of Scandinavian furnishings. Attractively designed to be aesthetically pleasing in their simple and practical function. Lots of chairs, sofas, lamps, bookshelves, dressers, tables and more at competitive prices. Made primarily from woods but also bamboo. Bamboo is a good candidate forafforestation, carbon sequestration andclimate change mitigation. Really appreciate Indoor furniture and their customer service.

We are very happy with our purchase of home office furniture at Indoor Furniture! Everyone was terrific, from purchasing to delivery. Eva was so helpful with selecting the furniture, which was a great sales price. They held the furniture for a month while we painted and had carpet installed - Eva kindly made recommendations for colors. The men (Shim and Mike?) who delivered and set up the furniture were very careful (and good, and all round really good people).

I attempted to buy an X-Chair through this company for my wife. I would not normally spend this much money for an office chair, but since its for my wife she deserves and is worth it. We've made multiple calls about this chair, and the business wasn't communicating enough with updates, and expressed no accountability of the issues that came up. The chair was delivered to their old location and sent back to the manufacturer delaying the shipping.

The shipping isn't the main issue for me, but the limited communications with the update of the product arrival, and lack of accountability stating the misdelivery is not their fault. We asked for a refund and were informed no refund or cancelation. Considering we have not received or taking the product in our possession. I admit when I called and the conversion got heated, because me, I hung up.

I called back right away and eventually the guy hung up on me and I have yet to hear from the company. I have filed a complaint with the State of Maryland, and will continue to work on a resolution with my issues of this company. I do not recommend doing business with this company. Response To Company Statement: The response of the Company started with being positive, and then hints at dealing with me a customer isn't good by highlighting my wife was wonderful to deal with.

A slight at me. That is ok. Then suggests I am providing incorrect statements. I've read all the negative reviews about this company in Google Review, and they seem to be consistent, and the company's response is consistent. Attack and disregard the customers. Calling them liers, "many incorrect statements". Lets tell the complete truth. The day my wife and I visited your company the Sales person, Eva, again provided great customer service.

I informed her I found out about the chair online and were planning on buying it. I was going to order it online, but considered during this time of the pandemic to be generous and give business to the local community. I sincerely regret it. Now the manufacturer guarantees delivery in the United States within 2- 7 days. Eva stressed to me that Indoor Furniture can have by Wednesday and if not next week Wednesday.

That was about 6 - 10 days. I didn't believe this, but gave this company a chance. My problem again isn't the delivery date. The lack of communication, and lastly how they treated my wife. Attempting to walk all over her with their bully policies. Taking my wife words of "Ok", to mean she is happy with their customer service. This company can change the narrative all they want to, but this is about bad customer service.

They aren't even accountable. You know what a company is not by when everything is going well, but how do they treat you when things go wrong. My wife and I have not heard one apology for our concerns or issues. No taking accountability for the misdelivery. Everything is not my fault. In response to who paid for it. Yes my wife used her credit card, but that will be paid from my pay check.

So in kind, both statements is true. The devil is in the details. Stop trying to change the narrative and be accountable. If every customer complaint is going to be dealt with by this Company, and an insensitivity to customer concerns are not cared for. How are you going to continue growing your business. Truthfully not my concern. I don't know how this is going to end and if my wife and I will get our satisfaction, but sadly this situation will make it harder for me to invest in future local business.

I will at least make sure to be mindful of companies with their policies. This has been a terrible experience for me and my wife. Companies shouldn't be rewarded for bad business practices.

I have purchased over $5,000 in furniture from Indoor Furniture working with Eva (an owner) directly. The initial transactions are what you would expect and waiting for a delivery and install was no concern. However, additional orders were a headache in getting confirmations and receipts. Further, Eva order additional furniture which we did not need and after intense conversations agreed to a refund.

They would not process it back to our AMEX but rather a check, not the end of the world. Fast forward 7 months later we are still waiting for the refund she has issued a check this month to the wrong payee and to the wrong address. None of this even touched the fact that our TV was damaged and it took 6.5 months to receive the proper insurance check also having dealt with the wrong payee and complete run around for the reimbursement. Do not do business with this organization.

We ordered a loveseat on August 8 and were told it would be delivered within 8-14 weeks. Having not heard anything, I called during week 14. The employee expressed surprise, said she would check on the status and never called back. Over the next six weeks, I spoke to the owner and three employees multiple times. I kept calling because I was given either no information or conflicting information.

I was convinced something was seriously wrong with the store or the sofa had been damaged in transit. They missed Thanksgiving. I was told the loveseat made it to a warehouse in N.C. by the beginning of December.and, there it sat. On December 19 I called and was told that the loveseat would be delivered to the Columbia store that day and then to me ASAP.

The owner wished me a Merry Christmas "in case she didn't talk to me before then". They missed Christmas. Week 20: December 26 at 10:01 AM I reached the owner and finally got a delivery date for December 27. The loveseat arrived as scheduled and the delivery men were very helpful. The loveseat is beautiful and exactly what we wanted. However, there are many vendors in Howard County that sell high quality furniture and have some degree of professional customer service built into their business model.

I was actually not upset by the delay as much as by the unreturned phone calls, conflicting information and gaslighting (no, it's not really late.). I do not recommend this store; dealing with them was a major hassle.

Sales staff is friendly, not pushy, informed and helpful about their products, manufacturers, and decorative benefits. I bought a lot of wonderful furniture and a gorgeous rug in clearance and ordered a beautiful Danish sofa. The sofa arrived very close to the day predicted (10 weeks) and the office was most accommodating about keeping me informed of its arrival. A great Scan-style furniture store for quality furniture at reasonable prices. Don't fail to check it out for quality and value!

Good quailty furniture very nice sales representatives. Furniture varies in price range to under 1k to well over that amount. They have a generous size clearance section I found a table with chairs and a bench for a great price and well made. Solid wood. Greg and Eva where very warm and receptive sales associates. I would recommend shopping here even if it's just to get an idea of quality furniture and price ranges you will see In the furniture business. There was no pressure to buy and everyone was very friendly and answered all my questions.

We ordered some chairs from Indoor Furniture and were greatly pleased with the experience. Everyone in the store was helpful without being pushy. The delivery timeframe was quoted as 8 - 12 weeks and the chairs were ready for pickup right at the 8 week mark. Next time we need something new Indoor Furniture will top the list!

Amazing customer service, impeccable design insight, quality products! Eva and her staff were friendly and helpful from the moment my husband and I walked in. I love that we were able to customize everything to ensure we would get the get the perfect look and fit for our space. Eva took the time to work with us and share product and design insight helping us choose some great pieces.

We have ordered many pieces for our new home (sofa, armchair and ottoman, office and bedroom sets). Still waiting on the Mobican bedroom set but I do not mind after learning these are made to order in Quebec. We absolutely recommend Indoor Furniture and will be using again in the future!

I have been going to Indoor Furniture for 20 something years. I have never had any issues getting my stuff on time. However, i was there in December and ordered a couple of items including a loveseat. The owner, in person assured me that it would take at the most 3 months. Well, I just received it today 61/2 months later. It has been the worse experience with a retailer ever.

The owner, at some point was even belligerent and would not understand why I would be so aggravated. I have made the mistake of paying upfront for the order. They were very deceptive. I will never set foot in that store again. On top of everything, they installed the loveseat with the wrong legs! Getting ready to call tomorrow and tell them.wish me luck!

If I had an option to give "0" I would. Worst customer service ever. Purchased sofa and rug on 1/13/18 they said rug will be 2 to 3 weeks after 4 weeks I called to check on status and they told me they will get back to me but here I am going on 5 weeks I called them again and asked for status and they are telling me this order was out of stock and will have it in Mid March. Are you kidding me right now?

And your gonna tell me how you guys didn't know about it? How is that my problem? And your response was I guess it ain't your problem. never had this kind of service after pending $2400 in that store. Worst customer service EVER. I asked for refund and she said I hope it's not too late for her to process " oh no lady your gonna have to give my money back or otherwise " i would never again to visit this store

Wow, I can't believe the low ratings for Indoor Furniture! We have been going there for years and started buying for our new home almost two years ago. Even before we bought anything we were given a friendly greeting and professional service. We have bought almost all our house furnishings there, living room, bedroom, dining room, lamps, and tables.

Never have we had a problem even when we decided we wanted a shelving unit in a different finish than what we ordered. They immediately made it happen. Always have had nothing but friendly and professional service from everyone there. We highly recommend them and will continue to shop there. 5 stars +! And we have the receipts to prove it!

Just got my new sofa and 2 Fjord recliners. Love them! Great quality and good looks. The de sign help at IF was spot on and the delivery crew was careful and on time. Time from purchase to delivery was a little longer than expected, but we are in general very satisfied.

We visited this firm in October 2016 and bought a couch and table for delivery promised "before Thanksgiving." We gave the firm a substantial deposit. As of today (January 4, 2017), it still has not been delivered. Each time we telephone the store, we get a different story. It is now apparent that the firm is enjoying the deposit and has no intention of delivering the merchandise.

I ordered a bed from a catalogue- a company that the sales person assured me they have worked with prior on multiple occasions and like the quality of their product. The two gentlemen that came to install it were professional and even pointed out the damage on the bed and coordinated the replacement. That's where the fun began. It took about 4 months of back and forth of calling and being put on hold and someone promising to take care of things to get the part replaced.

Each time I called there were endless excuses about ordering issues, unable to locate in warehouse, call backs, on and on. Then it was extremely difficult to coordinate the actual replacement of the piece (honestly since this wasn't a furniture delivery but a fix, they were not accommodating at all to come out). I don't know about you, but I have a full time job that affords me my house and, working around their delivery schedule was very difficult (as it is only during the day on select days to my area).

The actual furniture is a complete disaster and of TERRIBLE quality! The bed is poorly made. It scratched up my hardwood floors with deep 1/4 inch gashes which I only realized after a while. I had to go out and purchase cushions for the legs.turns out there were MORE pieces that were scratching the floor. Not to mention this store is expensive, you can get better deals elsewhere.

So after leaving the showroom my first time, I ordered a desk with another furniture company. I later decided I wasn't happy with that desk and began my search again. I went on this website only to learn more options are available than what's in the showroom. Prices for the desk are rather high as compared to everyone else (even pottery barn).

So I go in store, order and put down my 50% deposit on a desk that costs ~$2600. They were unable to give me a shipment estimate as that person was off work. I never get a call. I call and ask for "Brian", he again was unavailable but I was roughly given a 2 week timeframe. But no exact date. I was told Brian would call me back to schedule. I work from home so I arrange for my current L-shaped desk & file cabinet to be picked up and trashed.

I waited 3 days again. No call. So, I call. Brian is again not working. I am now quoted 2-8 weeks for delivery. I was previously told that this company picks up all furniture from the supplier in VA directly and can get products in quickly. It's interesting because I once had a company offer to make me a sofa in High Point, NC and ship it to MD and they guaranteed a quicker completion & delivery date than these people.

I work from home so, working on the floor for 4 weeks is not an option. I told the lady on the phone that a range of delivery is not acceptable as I need an exact date so that I can plan around it. I shouldn't have this issue. I never had it with Haverty's, Crate & Barrel, Value City, StoreHouse, etc. This is completely unacceptable. I refuse to give another chance. Paying that much for a desk was too much and to have horrible service? I'm far more valuable that that. They'll miss me in my goodbye because my coins will be going elsewhere. And.

Maybe instead of ordering from them, I just order from the manufacturer directly. Cut out that middle man and arrange delivery myself. Thanks for nothing Indoor Furniture! Update: I call to cancel my order. I found an even better desk by West Elm that's 1/2 the price. That I have not received nor have they given me a delivery date) I am told I cannot. WTH!

I am then told that I will be charged 25% for restocking. What will you be restocking, you don't even have the desk. This store is about to receive the worst lawsuit known to man. You will not force me to pay for an item I not longer want and I don't have. The cancellation at Haverty's was seamless. Here, they overcharge you then don't follow-up with shipping/delivery date, then trap you to buy an item you do not want when you still have yet to receive it. I've about had it. I'm going up there with the police in tow. If they don't give me my $1300 back (50%), they will have legal hell to pay!

If I could give half of a star, I would, and it is only because the furniture is beautiful here. However, the customer service is absolute dog shit. I ordered a gorgeous bamboo bedroom set back in early August 2015 on the promise it would be in my home in 3-4 weeks max. Mid-September comes around and I didn't receive a single update. After hunting the owner down, she explained there were delays in my shipment. (Alright, so why couldn't you call and update me?) I demanded a refund to which she replied it takes 6 to 8 weeks for a refund to process - what?

She said I would already have my furniture by the time it went through so it wasn't worth the hassle. So, I decided to wait. The latest would be October 15 for my orders arrival and check it out, it is the 16th and no update on my furniture. Please, do not buy from this store. It is a headache of epic proportions and for the amount of money you will spend on the furniture, it is completely not worth it. Update: The store owner gave me a 25% discount on a double dresser to make up for the time lost. The set finally arrived at the end of October. A very beautiful bedroom set but I don't think I'd ever spend this much on a set again.

Is it possible to give no stars? Where to begin. I wandered into this place purely by chance and fell in love with a teak table. Expensive people but I had to have it. I was in the process of going through a home rennovation and knew this table would be a perfect match for my new kitchen and dining room. I ordered this table on 5/31/15. Its September and I have no table.

I was told 4-6 for delivery. So July comes. I call. The sales people have no idea where your furniture is and always have to call you back while the contact the manufacturer. First they call me back and say oh it was out of stock. Ummmm how about telling me the table was out of stock when I wanted to buy it! Then wait another two week cause they told me beginning of August it will be in NC and then shipped to them.

Middle of August comes, call again.they have to call the manufacturer. Oh, now end of August. Call yesterday.now it will be NC next Tues SEPT 8 and then after that they will have it in a FEW days. Also let me point out there are no apologies, no concessions on price being offered while this is going on. The manager, Eva is quite smug and not helpful a bit.

I go in there today and tell her I do want this table and I am done waiting on it. She has this stupid grin on her face, offers no apologies and then tells me it will be four weeks until I receive a check in the mail! I paid with a debit card. Do not buy furniture at this store! The customer service is horrible and they do not know when ( or seem to give a rats a**) when the furniture is coming in. If I do not have my check in four weeks I am calling a lawyer.

My problems with this place are their lack of knowing where the product I ordered is in the process, and their unique math skills they use to tell me I'm wrong. My wife and I ordered a couch which was due by Monday, since we were told 6-10 weeks for delivery. We hadn't heard from this place since we ordered and after counting up all the weeks passed, I stopped in to ask about our couch.

Not having our purchase delivered within the agreed upon, relatively wide timeframe itself isn't a problem. These things happen. But when I asked about it the woman at the counter found my order, looked at it, and told me it would "probably" be made in 2-3 weeks. So, she didn't know where it was. Then I pointed out the 10 week mark. She looked at the order, said it was made on the 16th, so to the 16th of the month after was 4 weeks, the 16th of the month after that was 6 weeks (first part of the funny math) and that by the end of the month after that it will be within 10 weeks (again) from the date of order. That's about 3-1/2 months, which, if averaged at 4 weeks each would be 14 weeks. Again, a couch not arriving on time isn't a big deal, but when asked about it from a customer I would offer these suggestions: -Know where your products are especially near the end of the delivery timeframe. -Don't make 2+2=3 to tell the customer you're actually delivering it on time.

Fellow Yelpers, I was drawn into Indoor Furniture because their name came up as a distributor of a particular made in America furniture brand. When I entered the store I was pleasantly surprised at the good selection of contemporary "Made in America" pieces, including from other manufacturers I had not yet discovered. The furniture that they carry is all of great quality.

There are plenty of deals to be had, but these are not cheap, bargain pieces. They carry many solid, hardwood, leather, beautiful and functional pieces. I really get the sense that the owner has done her research in picking from the better manufactures. Like with any organization, there are different personalities and salesmanship styles within the sales staff.

I would suggest that you talk to a couple of the staff to find the style that best fits your needs. Do not feel beholden to the first person that greets you at the door. I'm the type of person that knows what they want when it comes to the big picture, so I need someone that is available for questions, but not hovering. I then worked with all the staff when it came to the details of fabrics and colors as my background is not design. They're always happy to help and have never made me feel rushed.

I placed my first order late in 2014 for a "Made in America" (Texas) microfiber couch and a "Made in America" (Vermont) solid wood bedroom set. As someone else has pointed out, you must allow a fair amount of lead time. I did not take delivery until about 12 weeks after my order was put in. The delivery time is something I hope could be improved upon, but in my mind, the furniture will probably last a lifetime and is worth the wait.

In May 2015, I came across an article about the couch manufacturer and reports of high rate of defects. I felt my couch had many of the same issues that had been pointed out in the report. I approached Indoor Furniture with this article and they were already aware of the reports. I received an email from the owner directly and they are working as an intermediary between the manufacturer and myself to get the problem resolved. Well, after that stellar service, and since I was thinking about furniture anyway, I went back to the store just this week to order a "Made in America" (Texas) ottoman and a "Made in America" (North Carolina) chaise lounge for a bay window.

I received much the same service I had the first time around, and another 12 week wait for delivery. I'm very excited for it. I have been to the store several times and have had the pleasure of personally meeting the owner, Eva. Her style is obviously very compatible with my own and you can find her, at times, actually working the floor.

We purchased a floor model book shelf. We were supposed to pick it up the next 2 days. I borrowed an SUV from a friend. I called to make sure they pull the book shelf out to the delivery area. They told me that the salesperson forgot to tag sold sign on the unit. They sold my book shelf to another customer! They told me that they will special order me a new one. It's been over a month. I am still don't have the book shelf. The customer service is very poor.
