Julia was incredibly helpful today. She knows the inventory, took our dimensions and placed the furniture in our room.- showing us various positioning for our items. They even moved all the pieces and spaced them out as they would be in our room so we had a visual. No waiting for furniture- it's coming in 4 days! Thanks again for all your assistance!

I purchased 2 pieces of art and a credenza from Homenclature and the whole experience was awesome. My office looks great and the delivery persons took extra care and even adjusted the cabinet doors! I was very impressed. 10/10 highly recommend!

What great stock and what great people! Lots of great, aggressively discounted finds in furniture and home accessories. Valparaiso showroom organized well to allow one to zero in on favorite pieces. Staff- Julie, Jolee and Michael exceedingly helpful but inobtrusive. Delivery guys Caleb and Abe professional and go the extra mile to ensure satisfaction. I bought 7 pieces here BEFORE moving, that's how compelling the merchandise is!

I love Homenclature! I have been working with Julie for the past 7 months to help fill our second home with glamorous fabulous pieces. Julie listens to her clients and finds the most gorgeous hidden gems to create interior design bliss! We have purchased 25+ items so far and are still shopping for more! What a pleasure and treasure this store is! I love the way everything is displayed! Karen assisted me both times I have been in and was very helpful, informative and gave me many great ideas. I have sent a couple friends to the store who have bought several pieces due to Karen's help. I appreciated her taste level and her suggestions were spot on! I'm spreading the word!

I stumbled upon this gem while waiting for a Dr Visit in the area. Staff was super friendly, professional, and helpful. She gave me space and time to look around but was available for questions when I had them. This unique shop has a wide variety of furniture and decor. Made In America furniture is noted and I especially appreciate that aspect of it. The prices were very affordable. I recommend Homenclature. She also told me of the Homenclature in Valparaiso, which is nearby my hometown.

I love the fact that you can find an eclectic mix of furniture and accessories here. I recently bought a pair of chairs for our new home that were really unique in their fabric and fit in perfectly. Nancy is friendly and helpful and willing to walk the store with you or let you browse by yourself.

Wow would be the first adjective I would use to describe this store! I must admit I had heard about it from friends but never went in until they moved to their new space! The selection is incredible, from the unique pieces on the floor to the custom order options! The pricing is incredible, the options are endless. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and they offer in home consultations. I have scheduled mine and frankly can't wait to get the help I need!

Stumbled upon this store in Carmel the other day when I was driving by. It was so refreshing to walk into the store and not be harassed or followed around the store by employees. I had just come from another furniture store where that exact thing happened, so I left. I don't like visiting furniture stores that try to talk to me too much and share how much they know instead of caring about what I am looking for and allowing me some space to look around. Karen from Homenclature was so sweet and helped me locate the right pieces to consider for my upcoming room redo! I now know this will be the place I come to for all of my home furnishings and decor! I'm in love!

This place is a GEM! Want high end furniture/decor that is not sold big box stores in NWI? You need to come here. No it's not cheap but it's quality and its unique. The inventory changes on a regular basis and they offer everything from modern to traditional

I walked into this store for the first time not knowing exactly what to expect! I was pleasantly surprised, unique and unexpected! Custom orders or immediate gratification, it's your choice. The staff was so knowledgeable and friendly. I have made an appointment for an in-house consultation! I cannot wait for them to come out and transform my space. I highly recommend Homenclature!

I would frequently visit the Homenclature store when it was in Munster, and I have been to the one in Velpo at least 3 times. I'll tell you how they survive Debbie, it's because of the way they treat their customers, they let them browse their store without be pesky! I hate when I walk in a store and they are right on top of you with a "Can I Help You"!

That being said, I would say that they DO have very much of a clue as on how to how to treat their customers. So if you have been there three times and feel you have never been helped, why do you keep going back?

I can't figure out how this place sells anything. They have beautiful pieces but the owners don't have the slightest clue how to sell. They are so incredibly unhelpful that you truly have to wonder how they survive. They really need to go hang out in the back office and hire some actual sales people. Is is really so sad when you see a business that has such potential and is run into the ground by owners that don't have a clue.

They may get a few wholesale buyers that won't care how obnoxious the owners are or maybe few local buyers but they will never sell to the other 99% of the world until they hire some people that understand how to work with customers. Don't bother to go there unless you want to be talked down too and are prepared to handle every aspect of the sale and delivery yourself.

And whatever you do don't ask them to follow up with you on anything you will never hear from them. I see by their response that they have such a high opinion of themselves that is just the problem. I have been there three times and they have never helped with anything. Even to buy things is a chore and getting any follow up or delivery you are on your own.

Enter at your own risk because you will like the merchandise but will have to have tremendous patience to actually see these items in your home. And don't expect any service along the way.

I have purchased many of my pieces here. The owners are very knowledgeable and have great ideas. The prices are reasonable and the pieces are great quality as well as unique. There is no other furniture store like this one. Family owned and operated. Well worth checking out.

I always have fun shopping at Homenclature. The owners and salespeople have great ideas and the selection and variety can't be found anywhere else! It is not a store for people who want their rooms too look like everyone else's but if you have eclectic taste and a creative bend, you will not be disappointed!

(Writing on behalf of my parents) Great experience. Sales staff knew their products and inventory and provided several selections to choose from. Prices were attractive and consistent with the quality of the furniture. It's not your everyday shopping at giant box stores where everything looks the same, but for a discriminating shopper open to something new, I highly recommend it.

Last time I went there, the saleswomen was judgmental and passive aggressive. She implied that we couldn't afford a certain item, was not helpful, and then proceeded to use cheesy sales tactics, "This won't last long at these prices."K.thanks. I've also noticed that when I go alone, I get ignored by salespeople but when I'm with my husband they suddenly pay attention to me.

A lot of their furniture is ridiculously ornate or modern in a bad way. Most of their sofas and chairs are really uncomfortable, not to mention the fact that many of their items are damaged.

Prices have risen to the point I don't see us going back here. Used furniture with new prices. We had a coupon and it wasn't even worth it to use as we could find just as good elsewhere for cheaper prices. I guess it's good for the Valpo elite who are hoping to buy vintage. Just not my idea of a good deal or a reasonable offer.

I am honored to be the first reviewer. This is by far the best furniture outlet store that I have ever been in. Every item is high-end, and for sure would put your place at a high level of elegance that will have people talking. They have great /quick customer service. The people that work there are quite personable and always asking to assist you.

A hidden jem tucked away in Munster, Homenclature is my lunchtime addiction (it's only 5 minutes from my office = dangerous). They have new and used furniture, home decor, gifts, and enough items to feast your eyes upon to send your mind racing. For example, I picked up a solid cherry Johm M. Smith dresser with super deep/tall drawers in excellent condition for $300 that actually fits adult clothes! It's worth a visit for sure.
