Radstons was founded in 1908 and is currently located in the North Shore Business Park in Hercules. This distribution center is now primarily a business-to-business operation. I have been at this location once, but really miss the old retail store that was in downtown Berkeley (a block north of University). From an office supplies nerd perspective, this place was always worth a special trip for its unique selection and interesting multilevel store layout. I also was a customer at the old Richmond location (formally next to Taqueria La Bamba).

Shame. They closed down the Richmond location. I used to go to Radstons ALL THE TIME when I was younger so I could get those shiny star stickers my teachers used for various purposes (I had one teacher who called it "The Star Store" because she would always go there to get those stickers), as well as mechanical pencils (and 0.7 lead) which became all the rage when I was in 3rd grade. More importantly, buying stuff here helped me learn how to handle cash as a youngin'! Thank you Radstons, even though your Richmond location no longer exists.

Decent little office supply store with lots of items, everything was reasonably priced. This store never seems too busy and so getting in and getting out again quickly is not that difficult of a chore. The office furntiture selection is relatively meager but then again the store isn't that large and the desk we bought is durable so it's hard to find complaint.
